Acer's Android netbook reported being delayed
To the disappointment of open source fans, Acer's dual-booting Android/Windows netbook, which was expected to start shipping as soon as next month, is now said to have been delayed, with now new launch date being available at this time.

The still rather mysterious Android netbook was announced by Acer in June and was supposed to be the first one to provide users the choice of running either the mobile-prone Android OS and Windows XP. This solution would have made sure that if users didn't like Android, they'd be able to simply use Windows XP, thus cutting down on return rates for this particular model.

Apparently Acer delayed the Android netbook based on studies showing a low demand for such a product, but it may be that the company is waiting for others to make the jump and see what happens with the recently-announced Chrome OS.
