SteelSeries to release two Starcraft II gaming mats
As much as we'd like that to happen, Starcraft II probably won't come out this year so to make the wait a bit more bearable SteelSeries is preparing to ship a couple of gaming surfaces (aka mouse pads) that feature art from the upcoming RTS. Seen below, the QcK Limited Edition Terran Marine and Kerrigan vs. Zeratul Edition pads have a non-slip rubber base to prevent sliding and feature an optimized textured surface which guarantees both smoothness and glide for all, but especially optical and laser mice.

"StarCraft and its expansion have together sold more than 11 million copies worldwide, and we believe StarCraft II will prove equally influential and popular, making this a great opportunity to provide gamers with surfaces that help to improve performance and game play," said Brian Stech, SteelSeries President of the Americas. "We are incredibly excited to have an opportunity to continue our partnership with the designers from Blizzard Entertainment and develop surfaces that we know StarCraft players will enjoy."

Set to become available this month, the 'surfaces' will be found in the US at GameStop and Amazon for $14.99.
