Asus reveals its first Xtreme Design series motherboard
Without actually releasing anything, Asus is trying to ignite the motherboard market by announcing its Xtreme Design motherboard family, which is claimed to offer "the best in performance and reliability." The first product in the Xtreme Design series is the P6TD Deluxe, an Intel X58-powered board that has a 16+3 phase power design, a Wind-Flow heatpipe cooling solution, the Turbo V real-time power processing technology, and most importantly (apparently) Stack Cool3+, a feature which helps cool components with an "enhanced PCB layer", which may be just a fancy version of Gigabyte's 2oz copper PCB.

Apart from the Xtreme Design elements, the P6TD Deluxe provides support for LGA 1366 processors (Core i7, i7 EE), has six DDR3-2000 memory slots, three PCI-Express x16 (16/x16/x1 or x16/x8/x8) slots for CrossFireX or SLI setups, and the Express Gate instant-on OS. The board also boasts one eSATA and six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, dual Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, FireWire, plus Power and Reset buttons. No word on pricing but it will probably be 'xtreme'.

Android official Facebook App Coming?
Everyone knows Google and Facebook have a long time rivalry. Because of that rivalry Android users who have been hoping for an official app, were forced to use alternatives like Bloo or Babbler.

Almost every mobile platform has a Facebook app designed for it; iPhone, Blackberry, Windows Mobile, Palm, Sony Ericsson, INQ, and Widsets. Android has been left out. But this might soon change, if we have a look at the latest facts.

First of all a Facebook app appeared on the official myTouch 3G website and while someone could claim this happened by accident, the Rachael UI video came which shows the same app in use on Ericsson's new Android smartphone.

At the moment this is just a rumour, but no one from Google or Facebook dismissed it yet. But if these facts donأ¢آ€آ™t suggest that we will have an official Facebook app in the Android Market soon, what will?

T-Mobile renames G1 Touch the G2 Touch
In a bizarre move today, T-Mobile has announced that the forthcoming G1 Touch will change its name to G2 Touch. The device is also known as HTC Hero. We learned the news from the companyأ¢آ€آ™s official Twitter account.

The company has also denied the rumours that the new phone will be delayed by saying "No delays to next HTC Android phone. Should have more soon on dates and details"

The phone debuts at the end of the month, and the only thing we can assume for the name swap, might be that the G1 moniker is associated to an ageing handset.

Why didnأ¢آ€آ™t they thing that in the first place? They probably wanted to create a little fuss before the official launch. We also liked the HTC Hero name.

Web service provider Akamai reports Conficker activity in Q1
Reports are showing that the Conficker botnet virus that was at large in Q1 is still one of the highest trafficking botnet globally. Akamai web services reported that their quarterly figures for internet traffic were showing Conficker as by far the largest source of online attacks in Q1 - accounting for a massive two-thirds of all attack traffic.

Since it appeared in 2008 Conficker has grown way out of control, and by March it had created a media frenzy; especially when found that all infected machines were set to perform a programmed instruction on April 1st - and though nothing actually happened in April, it certainly got plenty of attention.

Akamai report that the majority of attacks in Q1 stemmed from China and the United States, which puts a certain responsibility on these countries to step up and set an example.

Mozilla to start centralized web-dev tool database
Web developers will soon be able to find the tool that they need for their specific development tasks 10x faster with Mozilla's centralized directory of website development tools.

TechCrunch are reporting that Mozilla has posting an entry on their blog regarding a new website - Ben Galbraith says "There are an immense number of tools that have been created to help web developers. Unfortunately, you might never know this; there's no central index of these tools. It turns out that keeping up with all the development in this space is really difficultأ¢آ€آ“even for folks like us who have been tracking it every day for years."

He then talks about how Mozilla would like developers to submit their favourite tools to the directory via a URL, and give feedback on each application they use to help other developers.

The site is still a work in progress at the moment, but this is a really good idea for those that have a great tool to share with others, as well as those that simply spend hours looking for the tools they need.
