Inno3D bundling Alone in the Dark with GeForce 200 series cards
Inno3D has just announced that it will pair up the fifth installment in the Alone in the Dark series with all its GeForce GTX 200 and GTS 200 cards. Developed by Eden Games, Alone in the Dark is powered by the Twilight 2 engine and delivers an action-packed gameplay with horror inserts that stay true to the legacy of its predecessors.

Alone in the Dark isn't among the most demanding PC games Inno3D could have found but it could be fun and at least it makes the card box a little less empty. Yes, we have nothing.

Freecom unveils RFID-equipped external hard drives
Freecom keeps on churning out storage solutions, and the latest new kid on the block is the Hard Drive Secure, an external drive that enables users to lock their data to keep it safe by simply swiping a keycard. Coming in 500GB, 1, 1.5, and 2TB capacities, the Hard Drive Secure measures 15.5 x 14.8 x 4.3 cm, weights 1.4kg and can be controlled with a keycard that uses radio frequency identification (RFID) technology. Passing the keycard over the reader on the hard drive will lock/unlock it to give/close access to the data found on it, no more entering passwords.

"Having a portable hard drive lets you backup and share information quickly and easily, but computer users shouldn't have to compromise on security when it comes to storing their data externally," said Axel Lucassen, co-founder and executive senior VP of product line management and marketing at Freecom. "You hear about it almost every day - somebody somewhere loses their hard drive and all kinds of confidential information ends up out in the open for anyone to see. Whether at home or in the office, the keycard system on the Hard Drive Secure keeps your data completely safe and gives you instant access to your files whenever you need to use them."

The Hard Drive Secure has a USB 2.0 interface, is backed by a two-year warranty, and is bundled with two keycards.

In addition to the RFID drives, Freecom is also preparing the introduction of the Hard Drive Quattro line-up, which is made up of external drives targeting graphics and audio professionals. The Quattros also have 500GB, 1, 1.5, and 2TB flavors, aluminum enclosures, but provide no less than four connection options - USB 2.0, FireWire 400, FireWire 800 and eSATA.

According to their maker the 500GB, 1, 1.5, and 2TB drives are going to be found in stores priced at about 119 / 149 Euro (Secure/Quattro), 149 / 199 Euro, 199 / 249 Euro, and 289 / 349 Euro.
