Windows 7 to get Windows XP Mode
Claiming the businesses' need for flexibility in running older applications, Microsoft is preparing something called Windows XP Mode for Windows 7. Set to be provided as a free to download 'add-on' to those running legit copies of Windows 7 Professional, Business or Ultimate, Windows XP Mode is basically a virtual environment with Windows XP SP3 which works under Windows Virtual PC and enables the installation and running of older software right from Windows 7.

With Windows XP Mode, Windows 7 should, at least in theory, be able to work with all applications/games available that support Windows XP, easing the pressure for those reluctant to move to the upcoming OS due to compatibility concerns. According to Microsoft, a beta version of Windows XP Mode and Windows Virtual PC for Windows 7 Professional and Windows 7 Ultimate will be available 'soon'.

Sparkle unveils the Calibre X260 graphics card
Happy like it was Christmas morning, Sparkle has just come about talking about the newest stallions it created in its artificianlly illuminated labs, the Calibre X260 and X260 HM. Pictured below, Sparkle's GeForce GTX 260 black beauties have custom PCBs with 'enhanced' GPU and memory power circuitry, custom dual-slot coolers, a 448-bit memory interface and 896MB of GDDR3 memory, 216 Processing Cores, 3-way SLI support and two DVI outputs.

The yet unpriced/undated Calibre X260/X260 HM come bundled with the SPA Tune utility which comes with three pre-defined frequency modes - green, standard and overclocking. In green mode, the cards have their GPU, shader and memory clocks set to 400, 800 and 600 MHz respectively, while the standard and overclocking settings take the frequencies to 576/1242/1998 MHz and 648/1404/1998 MHz (no pre-defined memory OC unfortunately).
