Kingston SSDNow V300 120GB SSD
There is a review of the Kingston SSD Now 300V 120GB SSD posted today at eTeknix that is worth checking out. You can see our recent evaluation here for comparison purposes.
The V300 is the latest edition to the V family and over its predecessor, the V200, we find a new set of flash IC's and a new level of performance to suit. Similar to the older drives we do get the same extensive range of bundle options including vanilla packaging with the drive only, but also desktop, notebook and combo kits that both include a USB enclosure.

Facebook Creating App That Tracks You and Your Friends? Bloomberg, citing anonymous sources, claims Facebook is creating an app that tracks you even when the app isn't running. I don't see this going over well with Facebook users at all. What do you think? Facebook Inc. (FB) is developing a smartphone application that will track the location of users. The app, scheduled for release by mid-March, is designed to help users find nearby friends and would run even when the program isn't open on a handset, said one of the people, who asked not to be identified because the plans aren't public. HBO Tells Google to Remove Links to HBO HBO sent take down notices to Google to remove links to its own website over copyright violations. Haha! What a bunch of dumb asses. HBO has filed a request with Google demanding that they remove links to you guessed it HBO's own website, because they say they are violating their own copyrights. The request demands that links to other legitimate sites be removed as well, because again, automated DMCA takedown requests are the worst. Comments Read More ...
RIAA Set For 10,000,000th Google URL Takedown Gee, that is quite an impressive number. If you do the math, that is 16,666 take down notices every day for twenty months straight. The 666 stuff is just a coincidence...I swear. From humble beginnings in 2011, last year the RIAA amped up its efforts to have allegedly infringing URLs removed from Google's public indexes. Fast forward to today and the RIAA is about to hit a historic milestone. During the next few hours the music industry group will issue orders to the world's largest search engine to take down the 10,000,000th URL on its behalf. Comments Read More ...

ASRock Z77 OC Formula Motherboard The ASRock Z77 OC Formula motherboard is on the test bench today at MadShrimps. If you are in the market for a motherboard, this review will be of interest. The Z77 OC Formula is one of the high performance motherboards from ASRock, was built in cooperation with the well-known overclocker Nick Shih and features a 12 + 4 VRM design covered by a massive waterblock/heatsink, an 8-layer PCB, measuring points, plenty of thermal sensors and more. What we also like about this board is the fact that they have removed the legacy components like Floppy/IDE interfaces along with the PCI slots, in order to have a clean motherboard PCB design in the end. Android App That Infects Your PC Kaspersky Labs discovered an Android app that, after infecting your PC, uses your microphone to spy on you. We have come across PC malware that infects mobile devices before. However, in this case it's the other way round: an app that runs on a mobile device (a smartphone) is designed to infect PCs. As soon as the microphone detects sound, the application immediately begins to write audio data to a file using BeginRecording. The program encrypts files and sends them to the master.
