Rumors Abound for Facebook
A pair of rumors regarding Facebook have recently come to light. The first is that the company is still hoping to build a smartphone of its own. The pressure to diversify revenue streams could be ramping up in the wake of the companies recent IPO, and an unnamed Facebook employee stated “[CEO Mark Zuckerberg] is worried that if he doesn’t create a mobile phone in the near future that Facebook will simply become an app on other mobile platforms.” Building a phone can be extremely complex and difficult and Facebook has reportedly recruited several engineers that have worked with Apple in the past. The second rumor has Facebook interested in an acquisition of Opera Software to take advantage of its web browser for the phone and to help better compete with the other established browsers on the market.

The BitFenix Prodigy - A Flexible Mini-ITX Case
The recent debuts of several high-end mini-ITX motherboards such as ASUS' P8Z77-I Deluxe and ZOTAC's Z77-ITX WiFi have sparked considerable interest among system builders, but which case should you base your miniscule powerhouse on? BitFenix has come up with an unconventional mini-ITX chassis that just might be worthy of a second look. The steel mini-box appears to have taken some design cues out of Apple's G5 desktop chassis, with the "FyberFlex" plastic handles sturdy enough to pick the case up. One unusual feature is the placement of front I/O and buttons, which are oddly located at the case's lower right-hand side.
The Prodigy has a meshed top cover, and comes in black or white color variants. Storage-wise the case can apparently fit in nine 2.5-inch drives or five 3.5-inch drives, along with an optical drive. Those wanting to use a longer graphics card can easily remove the drive bays, and, get this - the top 5.25-inch drive bay can be taken out to make way for a 240mm radiator. A standard PSU fits in snugly underneath the motherboard, with two 120mm fans placed at the front and rear, and room for two optional 120mm fans at the top. At a suggested $79 price tag, this could make for a compelling case for your next portable desktop gaming rig.

Hewlett Packard Facing Tough Times
As part of its earnings report for the second quarter of this year, Hewlett Packard had a pair of negative announcements. The first is that profit dropped 31% to $1.6 billion on revenue of $30.7 billion. The second announcement deals with how HP plans to reverse its fortunes in the coming years. The company will remove 27,000 employees from the workforce by the end of 2014, which amounts to about 8% of its total employees. HP will be offering an "early retirement" package for employees who don't want to be "let go involuntarily." By reducing the number of employees, HP hopes to save upwards of $3 billion per year.
