Sapphire HD 6850 1GB Vapor-X Edition
A review of the Sapphire HD 6850 1GB Vapor-X Edition has been posted at Overclockers Club over the weekend. Aside from the overclocking potential and free game, the fellas at OCC didn't seem overly impressed with this card.
The core speed, while using a voltage of 1.225V, got stuck at 1030MHz. Everything after that began to artifact and show poor, unstable image quality. At 1030MHz, this card produced the highest core clock speed of all of the comparison cards! This is a slight improvement over the XFX HD6850 comparison card, which maxed out at 1020MHz. The memory, on the other hand, pulled ahead at 1249MHz where the comparison HD6850 stopped at about 1200MHz. With a cooler that is slightly improved over the reference, XFX version, this isn't to be unexpected. The results here are good, especially with the near 30% overclock on the core."

AT&T Begins Sending Throttling Warnings
Alright, raise your hand if you are one of the people that has received a throttling warning from AT&T. C'mon, I know some of you have to be in the top 5%.
Following a trend set by other carriers, AT&T has begun sending SMS warning messages to the top 5 percent of data users on its network. The message alerts consumers that they are among AT&T's top 5 percent that billing period, and suggests they use Wi-Fi to avoid reduced data speeds in the future.

Google's Schmidt Says Motorola Deal Won't 'Screw Up' Android
Eric Schmidt, speaking to with Bloomberg Television, said Google's Motorola deal will not screw up Android.
"The Android ecosystem is the No. 1 priority, and that we won't do anything with Motorola, or anybody else by the way, that would screw up the dynamics of that industry," Schmidt said in an Oct. 1 interview with Bloomberg Television's Erik Schatzker in Nantucket, Massachusetts. "We need strong, hard competition among all the Android players. We won't play favorites in the way people are concerned about."

HTC Android Phones May Have "Massive Security Vulnerability"

'Aliens: Colonial Marines' Shows Off Ten Minutes of Gameplay

China Launches Module for Space Station
The Chinese launched a boxcar-sized experimental space station module into orbit 217 miles above the Earth on Thursday. The experimental station is to be used for two years as a testing module for docking practice preparing for the launch of the actual space station in 2020.
At about 60 tons when completed, the Chinese station will be considerably smaller than the 16-nation ISS, which is expected to continue operating through 2028.
