BitTorrent Offers Tech to Decongest ISPs' Networks
BitTorrent's CEO is offering to help ISPs with network congestion. His explanation of TCP is priceless too " This is a lot like driving your car through a school zone and only slowing down after you've struck your first pedestrian."
In a speech at the Broadband World Forum here, BitTorrent CEO Eric Klinker tried to build enthusiasm for his company's Micro Transport Protocol, or μTP, an open-source technology that's built into the company's client software for sharing files over peer-to-peer connections. μTP increases network efficiency and addresses congestion--the biggest concern that ISPs raised a few years ago during the heated network neutrality debates, Klinker said.

98% BitTorrent Users Being Sued In Wrong Jurisdiction?
How can 98% of all the people being sued be in the wrong jurisdiction? How and why is that even possible?
After a major copyright settlement case featuring The Expendables was found to be fatally flawed last month, United States Copyright Group and client Nu Image dropped the case. Now, sidestepping an uncooperative judge in Columbia, the team are hoping to get more joy from one of his counterparts in Maryland, but they still haven't learned their lesson. Tests by TorrentFreak reveal that 98% of 4,165 potential defendants in the case are being sued in the wrong jurisdiction.

Fire at Foxconn Plant Extinguished
Everyone please remain calm, the raging fire at Foxconn is now under control! According to the article, operations are unaffected and iPhone production continues. Hell, this is Foxconn we're talking about here, they were probably still making iPhones during the fire. Anyone else notice the complete lack of fire alarms / sirens during the video?
A fire at a plant belonging to Apple Inc supplier Foxconn Group in Shandong, eastern China, has been extinguished without casualties and there will be no impact on operations, said a spokesman for group's listed entity Hon Hai Precision Industry Co Ltd .

YouTube Launching Premium Channels in 2012?
YouTube premium channels? How long have they been talking about this? I have posted stories like this for five years now (at least). At this point, I just take it all with a grain of salt.
Ideally launching in the first half of 2012, these premium channels are themed by topics such as sports and fashion. YouTube plans to pay up to a few million dollars for content and providers are already starting to work on content creation over October and November. In addition, content will roll out on these channels at a scheduled date and time in order to encourage people to return.

The Trademark Trial and Appeal Board at the United States Patent and Trademark Office has denied Apple's application for a trademark on multi-touch.
Thus, from the foregoing, we find that "multi-touch" not only identifies the technology, but also describes how a user of the goods operates the device. Based on the evidence discussed above, as well as other evidence in the record, we agree with the examining attorney that MULTI-TOUCH indeed is highly descriptive of a feature of the identified goods.
