Seagate drive shipments slip in December quarter, revenue stays flat
Seagate's performance in the second quarter of fiscal year 2011 (ended December 32st, 2010) was quite rocky, as drive shipments were down sequentially, reaching 48.9 million units, while revenue remained flat at $2.7 billion and profits grew just a bit ($150 million).

New 7-inch CherryPad tablet said to have better screen, faster processor
US company CherryPal is currently working on a new 7-inch CherryPad tablet which improve on the $188 model released last year. According to reports, the 2011 CherryPad will have a capacitive 1024 x 600 touchscreen (800 x 480 on its predecessor), a 1GHz processor (vs 800 MHz) and more.

Samsung confirms acquisition of display technology company Liquavista
Samsung Electronics has confessed to buying Eindhoven-based display technology firm Liquavista, and stated it will be using its electrowetting technology in e-Paper and transparent displays to gain an advantage over the competition.
