Once again betting on looks, Samsung Electronics today unveiled the ST6500, a compact digital camera which features a sleek, angled, curvy and ergonomic design that's supposed to be very comfortable for users.

Gigabyte readies overclocked, custom-cooled 1GB Radeon HD 6950
After Sapphire and HIS, Gigabyte has also been confirmed to have a 1GB Radeon HD 6950 for fighting off the incoming GeForce GTX 560 Ti. Gigabyte's 1GB Cayman-based board is codenamed GV-R695OC-1GD, is factory-overclocked and features the three-fan WindForce 3X cooler.

HIS to deliver two IceQ X-cooled Radeon HD 6850 cards
HIS' IceQ series of customized graphics cards will soon be welcoming two more models among its ranks, the Barts-powered Radeon HD 6850 IceQ X and IceQ X Turbo. Both models feature DirectX 11 support and are equipped with an IceQ fansink boasting one central 92mm fan and four beefy heatpipes.

Microsoft OneNote available for the iPhone, and it's free, for now

Japan-based iiyama Corp. has scheduled for mid-February the launch of its newest widescreen monitor, a 24-inch model known as E2473HDS-B1 which features an LED backlight, a glossy look, and a typical power consumption of just about 24W.

Chrome 9.0.597.67 beta backtracks on Flash Player sandboxing
A new beta build (9.0.597.67) of Google's Chrome browser has now been released to address several bugs and stability problems with Flash Player sandboxing. Basically, Flash Player is 'out' of the sandbox (by default), while accelerated composting and WebGL keep making sand castles.

Western Digital ships 52.2 million hard drives in December quarter
In Q2 of fiscal year 2011 (which ended December 31st, 2010), Western Digital managed to ship no less than 52.2 million hard drives, making sales of $2.475 billion (slightly up sequentially). The company's profits were of $225 million, or $0.96 per share.

Apple reports record revenue, profits for Q1 of fiscal year 2011
The quarter ended December 25th (2010) has been more than kind to Apple who reported a revenue of $26.74 billion (up from $15.68 billion in the year-ago quarter), a profit of $6 billion or $6.43 per diluted share.

Eurocom today announced the P150HM Racer, a gaming notebook which mixes up a 15.6-inch (1920 x 1080) display, a Sandy Bridge processor (up to a Core i7-2920XM) and a powerful DirectX 11 graphics card - a GeForce GTX 460M, 470M, 480M, 485M, a Quadro FX 2800M, 3800M, 5000M or Radeon HD 6970M.

HP webOS tablet renders leaked, actual units expected this summer
Got nothing to spark the webOS hype for HP's February 9 event? Now you do as a couple of renders of a 9-inch webOS-based tablet (codename Topaz) have hit the internetz and they look pretty good - glossy black casing, rounded edges, a front-facing camera, and a micro USB port.

Cooler Master has rolled out one of its three new 120mm case fans which bear the name Turbine Master. The fan in question is the Turbine Master Mach 1.2 which has a top working speed of 1200 RPM, a maximum airflow of 56.5 CFM and a sound output of 21.1 dBA.

Packard Bell readies Sandy Bridge-enhanced ixtreme desktop
Packard Bell has today revealed its new ixtreme desktop PC which aims to impress both through design and processing power. In terms of looks, the system features a chassis with 'soft curves' and a glossy black finish, while in terms of specs, it bets on Intel's Sandy Bridge 32nm CPUs.

Lenovo to have a business group focused on tablets and smartphones
Aiming to secure a steady spot in the growing mobile device market, PC maker Lenovo is going to establish a new business group which will develop smartphones, tablets and other Internet-connected hardware like smart TVs.

Silicon Power comes up with 32GB Class 4-rated microSDHC card
Taiwanese company Silicon Power is set on satisfying the storage needs of mobile devices and so it has now introduced a microSDHC memory card that can hold 32GB worth of data and delivers transfer speeds of at least 4 MB/s.

MSI GeForce GTX 560 Ti Twin Frozr II OC graphics card is up for pre-order
More gun jumping fun comes courtesy of a German store who listed MSI's N560GTX-Ti Twin Frozr II OC card a week before it will actually be launched. The incoming, factory-overclocked and custom cooled GeForce GTX 560 Ti has a price tag of â‚¬280.33 and is expected to be available as of the 21st.

IBM and ARM plan for 14nm mobile chips through renewed agreement
Chip maker IBM and chip designer ARM have extended their collaboration focused on the development of new, advanced technologies that will ensure the evolution of low-power mobile products. With the extended deal, the two companies will work on processor designs suited for processes down to 14nm.

Acer working on several Sandy Bridge tablet PCs
Beside the ARM-flavored tablets showcased at CES, Acer is set on bringing out by mid-year two or three tablet PCs which are powered by Intel's fresh 32nm Sandy Bridge processors. The unnamed devices are set to have 7-inch and 10-inch touchscreens.

HWiNFO32 gets GeForce GTX 560 Ti support

Intel to upgrade Israel fab for 22nm chip production
Microprocessor giant Intel Corp. has decided on investing $2.7 billion in its southern Israel chip plant to prepare it for 22nm production. The fab will thus become Intel's second facility capable of manufacturing chips on this advanced process node.

1GB Radeon HD 6950 said to debut in February at $279
The battle on the sub-$300 graphics card battlefield is set to heat up this month and the next due to the release of the GeForce GTX 560 Ti and of 1GB Radeon HD 6950/6970 cards. The GTX 560 is supposed to come out next week, while the 1GB HD 6950 is said to debut around mid-February.

HTC 7 Pro smartphone goes on sale in Germany

Sony Ericsson sues Clearwire over logo design
Last week, on January 14th, mobile phone joint venture Sony Ericsson filed a complaint with the United States District Court Eastern District of Virginia through which it accuses Clearwire Corp. of trademark infringement.

Blurry T-Mobile marketing material claims Dell Streak 7 launch on February 2nd
Announced at CES 2011, Dell's second Streak is apparently just two weeks away, as some leaked T-Mobile marketing material says the tablet will become available, in the US, on February 2nd. No mention of prices but a mobile broadband plan will be bundled with the device.

South Korean company Zalman has worked late into multiple nights and managed to come up with a sleek and slim drive enclosure (named ZM-VE200) which supports 2.5-inch SATA hard drives, solid state drives or hybrid hard drives, and provides virtual drive capabilities.
