Sparkle today introduced to the world its newest GeForce GTS 450, a card codenamed SXS4501024D5LHD which features a low-profile design (suited for compact PCs) and is equipped with a dual-slot cooling solution that makes use of dual axial fans.

Antec teams up with Asetek, unveils the KÃœHLER H2O 620 liquid CPU cooler
Well-known PC case, power supply and accessory maker Antec today announced the first product coming out of its collaboration with Asetek, a sealed liquid cooler named KÃœHLER H2O 620 which features a copper cold plate, a low-profile pump, and a temperature-controlled radiator fan.

Zotac intros USB 3.0-supporting, Atom-equipped ZBox mini PC, barebone
Zotac just announced two new additions to its ZBox family, the ZBox ID41 barebone and ZBox ID41 Plus mini PC which are based on Intel's Pine Trail platform, feature Nvidia ION 2 (DirectX 10) graphics (with 512MB of dedicated memory), and support both DDR3 memory and SuperSpeed USB aka USB 3.0.

Spotify and Shazam mix music discovery and streaming for mobile users
UK companies Shazam and Spotify have teamed up so as to offer mobile users an integrated solution for music discovery and playback. Their partnership sees Shazam's free and premium mobile apps being added a 'Play in Spotify' feature for easy streaming of tracks tagged or discovered within Shazam.

TSMC buying Powerchip fab, office buildings for $100 million
TSMC (Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co.) has signed an agreement to purchase from memory maker Powerchip Technology a fab (currently in construction) and office buildings located in the Hsinchu Science Park, Taiwan.

New Windows 7 update suggests Service Pack 1 is closing in fast
This Tuesday, beside a couple of bug fixes, Microsoft also let loose an update for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 (KB976902) that is required for installing/removing service packs. This update release suggests that Service Pack 1 for the two OSes is not far behind.

PC shipments rose by 2.7% in Q4 2010, Dell takes back #2 spot
Market intelligence firm IDC is reporting that in the fourth quarter of 2010 PC shipments topped 92.1 million, representing a 2.7% growth compared to the same period of 2009. Despite reaching a new high, IDC said that the PC market's performance was below expectations.

The Google Translate app for Android has just received an update which brings and improved input box, a cleaner layout, and more importantly, a new feature called Conversation Mode which aims to enable people speaking different languages to converse relatively fluently.

Patent manic US company IBM and South Korean electronics star Samsung have agreed to extend their joint process development agreement and announced that they will collaborate on researching new materials and process technologies that will be used for future low power processors.

Asus' Android tablets said to come later and without Honeycomb - update
Bad news for anyone planning to purchase Asus' Eee Pad Slider, Eee Pad Transformer or Eee Pad MeMO, as John Swatton, Marketing Manager at Asus UK said that the company's Android tablets will be delayed until Q3 and will not run Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) but version 2.3 (Gingerbread).

Google snatches eBook Technologies
Google's first 2011 acquisition has been confirmed to be that of eBook Technologies, a company based in La Jolla (California) which has developed a platform (named ETI) for ebook conversion, publication, sales and distribution.
