Sandy Bridge is IntelÂ’s next generation 32nm architecture processor adding to their already illustrious CPU genealogy. While Sandy Bridge is architecturally similar to the Core i3, i5, and i7 processors featuring an integrated memory controller and on-die integrated graphics, it is indeed a new beast. The new on-die graphics core promises to change our perception of what integrated graphics can offer and new internal optimizations make the processor far more media aggressive than anything have seen to date. Essential Windows 7 Tweaks @ PCSTATS
"Overclocking a 12GB set of memory should present some challenges but when playing with this set is was no harder to overclock than a 6GB set. I say that knowing it should take more QPI volts to stabilize the overclock than you might use with a 6GB set. All it took was the right combination of settings to reach the number. 1700MHz came without much fuss but 1800Mhz took an increase in voltage while maintaining the 9-9-9-24 timings. Moving up further required another bump to 1.65v and to finally reach 1974MHz (374MHz over the rated 1600Mhz) the timings needed to be relaxed to 9-10-9-27."... [OVERCLOCKERSCLUB] via PCSTATS

Logitech K800 Wireless Illuminated Keyboard Review @ PCSTATS
Every person has different tastes when it comes to their installation of Windows. Through the years that have been many things that I do right off the bat when getting my install "just right". In the XP days, the first thing I would do was to stretch the taskbar, enable Quick Launch, add an address bar, unlock it, then move those around a bit. If my taskbar wasn't set up this way, I HATED IT... in fact, I would move other people's around when I worked on their computers! With its sequential read speeds hitting close to the theoretical limits of the USB specifications and its write times coming in above what Patriot specified the drive at, we definitely have a good product on our hands. Sandy Bridge, Part 3: Gigabyte P67A-UD4 & Intel DP67BG P67 Motherboards @ PCSTATS
With users that stay up to date with latest computer hardware, and are continously looking into getting the most out of their systems, this new year brought goodies that many will drool over. Whether these users are Gamers, 3D Modelers and Animators, Film or Photo editors or even Overclocking Enthusiasts, with the latest release of the Intel Core i3, i5, and i7 32nm Sandy Bridge microarchitecture processors, the P67 Express Chipset is sure to take processing to a new level. The first review we released today, the GA-P67A-UD4 was an excellent motherboard for those looking for high processing performance but without the need for 3-Way SLI or CrossFireX support. The UD4 also showed some limitations for those looking into a powerful video editing motherboard, due to no IEEE 1394a FireWire support and less USB 3.0 and SATA III connectors. Fun Facts: Intel's Sandy Bridge Processors @ PCSTATS
"I was always a bit bummed that I never got to test the GTX 480 in SLI. We only ever had one reference card come through our doors and after that we saw MSI, Galaxy and GIGABYTE release models that were all based on their own design, making it pretty much impossible to SLI them. The main reason I wanted to test them, though, was because we knew it was going to be the fastest dual card setup we would've tested in our testbed. Crossfire wasn't scaling as strong as it is now with the HD 6000 series and the GTX 480 had a nice little jump on the HD 5870. Today is a second chance for us to look at the top end NVIDIA offering in SLI. We've got an MSI and reference GTX 580 and together we should end up with a load of power. We heard issues of 100c cores with GTX 480s and we experienced that kind of temperature with the GTX 470. The heat's a lot more attractive on the GTX 580, though, and so is power draw and noise. Since we've already looked at the MSI GTX 580 by itself, we'll just get straight into our testbed setup to see what's going on before checking out the almighty numbers."... [TWEAKTOWN] via PCSTATS

Gigabyte P67A-UD5 Motherboard @ PCSTATS
Around this time last year we ran a story with some fun facts about Intel's then debutant 32nm manufacturing technology. For the launch of their 2nd-gen Intel Core CPUs (a.k.a. Sandy Bridge), they have compiled another interesting list of fun facts. "Service Pack 1 (SP1) for Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 includes previously released updates and delivers a number of powerful new features for Windows Server 2008 R2 for virtualization and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). New techniques in memory management with the addition of Dynamic Memory functionality, as well as the ability to deliver full-fidelity graphic experiences in remote and virtualized environments with RemoteFX, enable organizations to realize the greatest possible potential from their infrastructure. Microsoft continuously collects feedback on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems from its customers and partners. This feedback results in enhancements that help improve compatibility, reliability, performance, and user experience. These enhancements are typically made available in the form of regular updates delivered via Windows Update and, in some cases, the Microsoft Download Center. All updates are then rolled-up, along with additional enhancements, into a single package called a Service Pack. By integrating these updates into a thoroughly tested single service pack, Microsoft aims to provide a single high-quality update that will minimize both deployment and testing complexity for customers."...
