It seems that Research In Motion is really in motion nowadays, since multiple device leaks state that the latest device, second-generation BlackBerry Torch, is a slider smartphone with a QWERTY keyboard that's equipped with a speedy 1.2 GHz processor (600 MHz on the first Torch).

KFA2 makes GeForce GTX 460 with WHDI
Galaxy's European brand KFA2 has quietly introduced the world’s first WHDI graphics card based on Nvidia’s venerable GF104 core. Named GTX 460 WHDI, the card feature’s AMIMONS WHDI technology and allows users to stream video onto any WHDI capable device within 100 feet, or 30 meters in Europe. Of course, WHDI is still in its infancy, but this is the way of the future and we will probably see more WHDI cards soon.

Firefox 4 to be released in late February
Damon Sicore, Mozilla senior director of platform engineering, has announced that Firefox 4 is in the final stages of development. There remains around a 160 significant bugs left in the software, or what are referred to as “hard blockers”. A release candidate version will be made available once the bug count is down to around 100 known bugs. However, with the bug count still high, another beta release will be in the offing with the aim to drive the bug count down to zero through further testing.

Open-source ATI driver gets faster
Linux-dedicated Web site Phoronix reports that the kernel mode setting page-flipping for the ATI Radeon DRM kernel module has been merged into the Linux 2.6.38 kernel and the respective bits have been set in the xf86-video-ati DDX, and their initial results in graphics benchmarks under Linux show these latest improvements to cause some major performance boosts for the open-source ATI driver as it nears the level of performance of the proprietary AMD's Catalyst driver.

Sapphire announces Intel motherboards
Sapphire has officially announced its engagement in the Intel based motherboard market: the Pure Black X58 and the Pure Black P67 Hydra are the first two motherboards that Sapphire is going to launch for Intel platforms. The Pure Black X58 is based on Intel's X58 chipset, supports Intel's LGA1366 processor and features quality build and design with solid state capacitors as well as Sapphire's patented Diamond Black chokes, which should ensure that this enthusiast grade product handles some serious overclocking. It also features six DDR3 memory slots, two SATA 6.0Gbps and five SATA 3.0Gbps ports, three PCI-Express x16 2.0 slots running at x16/x8/x8 mode, USB 3.0 ports, Gigabit LAN, eSATA port, Bluetooth 2.1, FireWire and integrated 7.1-channel audio. In order to keep the overclockers happy, Sapphire included a debug LED, voltage measure points and Power/Reset/Clear CMOS buttons as well.
