More Music Sold Than Ever Before, Despite Piracy
Contrary to claims that piracy is killing the music industry, unit sales in the UK seem to be setting all-time records. Now, if we could just get more of that money into the pockets of the people actually making the music (artists), everyone would be happy. In 2010 the BPI reports that there were 281.7 million units sold, which is an all-time record. Never in the history of recorded music have so many pieces of music been sold, but you wont hear the music industry shouting about that. In fact, the music industry is selling more music year after year and today's figure is up 27% compared to the 221.6 million copies sold in 2006. Comments

Breaking NEWS! Apple Removes The Home Button
OMG! OMG! Apple is removing a button from its iProducts. They are so innovative! OMGx2, Verizon is getting the iPhone4...it has different antenna notches! In addition to the home button disappearing from the iPad, we're told that this change will make its way over to the iPhone as well. Our source said Apple employees are already testing iPads and iPhones with no home buttons on the Apple campus. I'm sorry but I'm going to rant for a moment because this crap just kills me. If you look at the non-stop coverage provided by mainstream tech sites around the globe, you'd think the biggest "tech" news on the planet this week was the Verizon iPhone 4 deal. Not the fact that Dirk Meyers was unceremoniously dumped by AMD, not Intel paying NVIDIA $1.5 billion, not Microsoft announcing Windows 8 ARM support or any of the other high profile stories. Now...a rumor that Apple is removing buttons is a huge deal. Comments

Most importantly: the format-holder is pitching the device as a high-end portable equivalent of its next-gen home console, with rich games content to match. Sony has told licensees the device 'is as powerful as the PlayStation 3'. Comments

2010 PC Growth Sees Slowdown, Tablet Cannibalization
Worldwide PC shipments grew by 2.7 percent last quarter. Although the numbers were solid, analysts had projected double the shipments and blamed tablets, game consoles and consumer satisfaction for the botched missed estimates. According to the Quarterly PC Tracker Survey released today by IDC, overall worldwide PC shipments grew 2.7 percent year-on-year during the fourth quarter, with Gartner reporting a slightly larger 3.1 percent as part of its quarterly report. Both numbers missed the firms' expectations, which IDC had predicted at 5.5 percent and Gartner at 4.8 percent. Comments

Is Apple Holding Their Customers Back?
You know something is wrong when your fan base starts writing articles like this. Apple user or not, I think I like this guy. Like so many other Apple minions I am starting to have a wandering eye. I am noticing the higher performance from the other computer manufactures, and wondering when am I going to be able to have that kind of power. It just seems like us Mac users have been left standing still waiting for the next "Innovating" thing to come out of Job's mouth while Windows and Linux users are leaping and skipping into the future. Should MySpace Just Die Already?
So the question of the day is "should MySpace just die already?" How many of you would even notice if MySpace fell off the face of the planet tomorrow? Anyone? It also would be more expensive to close up shop than to sell for even a bargain-basement price. But consider this: in the grand scheme of things, MySpace is probably better off dying a quick death now than prolonging its painful slide into irrelevance any longer. Comments
