IOGear Wireless Mini HTPC Keyboard Perfect for Couch Potatoes

For anyone who has ever used a Home Theatre PC, you know that there biggest feature is there power and flexibility. Nothing beats being able to one minute watch a favourite movie and the next pause that movie and lookup on IMDB who a certain actor was who played in that movie! Unfortunately, as many HTPC aficionados are also aware, inputting commands via a wireless remote or even a wireless mouse is not a great way of doing things (try using Windows onscreen keyboard to type out "Arnold Schwarzenegger"!). For some things, you really need a good old fashioned KEYBOARD. Sadly, a full sized keyboard and a mouse and a remote control in your living room is non starter for many as that is just to much real-estate to dedicate to such items. This is where a new breed of input devices come into play, these new devices not only have a trackball but also a keyboard built into them. One great example is the newly released IOGear GKM571R, this itty-bitty bad boy may not be as small as some other HTPC keyboards I have seen, but its small boxey shape does allow IOGear to cram in a bevy of features; not only does it sport a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard (with auto on/off back-lighting) but also a nice sized trackball and even a lid to protect the keys when not in use! This palm sized power house, combined with a good remote such as the Logitech Harmony series, is a mighty powerful setup that will allow you to control your HTPC the way it is meant to be controlled. The only large caveat, besides UNKNOWN battery life, is the asking price of nearly $100. That is a serious chunk of change for a HTPC keyboard, and as such only serious HTPC enthusiasts are most likely going to be interested in it.

Asus Lamborghini VX6 Netbook Comes with Pair of USB 3.0

Over the past couple years, the Asus Lamborghini line has consisted of some of the most aesthetically pleasing laptops this side of Apple. While their uniquely stylistic approach always grabbed ones attention, it is the features Asus crams into them that REALLY make them stand out; and the latest addition the Lamborghini Eee PC VX6 is no exception. While on first glance, it seems odd for Asus to have made a "mere" netbook version of their Lamborghini line. As this line usually is reserved for more "powerful" processor based units than the Intel Atom! However, when you consider that Asus practically invented the modern netbook niche and THIS netbook not only has a 12.1" LCD screen, DUAL core 525 Atom processor, B&O speakers, nVidia ION 2 GPU, 2GB of DDR3 ram, 250GB hard drive AND USB 3.0 ports it does make a lot more sense. After all this netbook IS the Lamborghini equivalent of a netbook sports car! Sadly, before everyone rushes out and dumps their last years Eee PC for the new Lamborghini Eee PC VX6, be aware that much like the cars it is named after, this netbook comes with a very UNnetbook price tag of 499 pounds! That is darn near the same price as an entry level NOTEBOOK and while powerful for a netbook, any notebook will take this Lambo' to the cleaners. Video demo after the jump.
