Spotify reinstates invite system in the UK
It seems Spotify has grown too much too fast as the music service's administrators have decided to go back to an invite-only system in the UK, the only country in which you could have signed up for the free, ad-based version of Spotify without an invitation.

The reason for the more or less disappointing move is the "huge demand" observed in the UK following the release of the Spotify iPhone and Android apps. Since too much of anything is bad, Spotify is temporarily back to the invite system but fear not, this doesn't mean you can't 'get it'. You could sign up on the waiting list and seek out people with invites, but the surest way to get a Spotify account is to pay for the Premium service.

Spotify aims to remove the invite requirement (again) "very soon" so you can also try to wait it out.

AMD showcases the ATI Eyefinity multi-monitor technology
As if it wasn't enough that it will be the first to ship DirectX 11 cards, AMD is preparing to introduce a new multi-display technology that will enable people to hook up at least three (and up to six) monitors to one card. Dubbed ATI Eyefinity, the tech has been showcased this week running games like Dead Space and World of Warcraft at a resolution of 7680 x 3200 pixels on six Dell monitors.

Set to be included in the upcoming Radeon HD 5000 series of graphics cards, Eyefinity targets both games and video professionals who like/need/want a lot of pixel real estate. Sure, it will require some investment in monitors but if you don't mind TN panels then you can get Full HD 22+-inch LCDs quite cheap these days.

Expect AMD to promote Eyefinity some more later this month when it releases the Radeon HD 5800 cards as those babies can handle six monitors, no small task. Of course, we just want the damned cards already.
