Team Group announces the Xtreem G1 and Xtreem R SSDs
Team Group is really stepping up its solid state drive game as it has just announced not one but two new families of NAND-equipped drives. Both coming in a 2.5-inch form factor, the Xtreem G1 and Xtreem R drives feature a SATA 3.0 Gbps interface, a MTBF (mean time before failure) of 2.5 million hours, and MLC (multi-level cell) memory chips, and will be available in 60, 120 and 250GB capacities.
The Xtreem G1 SSDs boast 64MB of cache memory, are likely powered by Indilinx's Barefoot controller and are claimed to have read and write speeds of up to 260 and 180 MB/s, respectively (210/145 MB/s for the 60GB model). As for the Xtreem R drives, they feature a built-in RAID chip and deliver read/write speeds of up to 240/170 MB/s.
Unpriced and un-dated, the Xtreem G1 and Xtreem R solid state drives will be backed by a two-year warranty.

Sapphire launches the Pure 785G AM3 motherboard
Sapphire has just unveiled the latest addition to its motherboard line-up, the AM3-ready Pure 785G. Seen below, the new micro ATX board has support for Phenom II and Athlon II processors, and features two DDR3-1600 memory slots, Radeon HD 4200 integrated graphics backed by 128MB of SidePort memory, and one PCI-Express x16 slot.
The Pure 785G also boasts six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports, Gigabit Ethernet, 7.1 channel audio, plus D-Sub, DVI and HDMI outputs, and is has a price tag hovering around 70 Euro.

XFX officially intros its 850W Black Edition PSU
Initially seen back in May, XFX's first power supply, the 850W Black Edition unit has now been announced and is (finally) gearing up to hit the stores. Seen below, the pimped out, gamer-oriented modular unit provides 850W of continuous power, has support for the latest ATX12V and EPS12V standards, is 80Plus Silver certified (up to 88% efficiency), boasts a single 12V rail (70A), and is cooled by a 135mm fan.

Biostar reveals its own P55 board offer
If you're still not sick of all the P55 announcements then here's another one for you - it's from Biostar and it's about the company's (first) three P55 motherboards, the TPower I55, T5 XE and TP55. Detailed below, Biostar's boards feature pretty much what you'd expect - an ATX form factor, support for LGA 1156 processors, four DDR3 memory slots, one (TP55) or two (TPower I55 & T5 XE) PCI-Express x16 slots, and six SATA 3.0 Gbps ports.
For starters only the TP55 has appeared in stores and it is priced at 100 Euro. For the other two models you'll probably have to wait another week or two.

TSMC to start making Sun's Rainbow Falls CPUs next year
Known better for making GPUs for the likes of Nvidia and AMD/ATI, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company aka TSMC will kick off some serious CPU manufacturing next year as it will be supplying Sun Microsystems servers with Rainbow Falls processors.
Designed by Sun, the Rainbow Falls chips will be made using 40nm process technology and feature 16 cores, 128 threads and no L3 cache, at least not in its first iteration. The upcoming CPUs will target web servers and are expected to bring in quite a bit of cash into TSMC's coffers.

Zalman ZM500-ST and ZM600-ST PSUs coming up
Zalman is on the verge of releasing the ZM500-ST and ZM600-ST, two power supplies that are claimed to have "the best price-performance ratio" in the PSU market. According to their maker, the 500W and 600W non-modular units are both ATX12V 2.3 compliant, have a two-forward switching circuit design, sleeved cables, are 80Plus certified, and feature dual 12V rails.
The soon-to-arrive PSUs are also cooled by a 120mm fan and are backed by a three-year warranty.

Buffalo sliding in new line-up of flash drives
Set on putting a lid on flash drives with removable caps, Buffalo is preparing the release of the RUF2-AG family of drives which feature a sliding mechanism for exposing/protecting the USB connector. The new flash drives measure 16 (W) x 45 (H) x 8 (D) mm and have a USB 2.0/1.1 interface, weight just about 3 grams, come in 4, 8 and 16GB capacities and will be available in four colors - black, white, silver and blue.
Unfortunately Buffalo hasn't revealed the sliding flash drives' prices but there's still a silver lining here as we only have to wait until the end this month to find them out.

Showa Denko begins shipping 334GB 2.5-inch platters
Japan's own Showa Denko has this week started shipping 2.5-inch hard drive platters with a storage capacity of 334GB, the highest density available to date. The new 334GB platters make use of fifth-generation perpendicular magnetic recording (PMR) technology and are set to answer the call for (even) more storage of the IT segment.
In addition to the 2.5-inch media, Showa Denko is planning to introduced 5G 1.8-inch and 3.5-inch platters that have a maximum capacity of 160GB and 750GB, respectively. The 750GB platters are especially sweet at they'll enable manufacturers to deliver 3TB hard drives. Encore!

EVGA unveils seven P55 motherboards
Like its larger rivals (Asus, Gigabyte), EVGA has went all-out when it comes to the P55 platform and has introduced seven motherboards based on Intel's new chipset - the P55 Classified 200, P55 FTW 200, P55 FTW, P55 SLI, P55 LE, P55 Micro and P55 Micro LE.
EVGA's new boards have support for LGA 1156 processors, feature four DDR3 memory slots, at least two PCI-Express x16 slots (six on the P55 Classified) and six SATA ports, Gigabit Ethernet, the Dummy OC one-touch overclocking function, voltages read points, and passive cooling.
This P55 line-up goes from $350, for the P55 Classified 200 to about $170 for the P55 LE (the P55 Micro LE is not yet listed) so it's not exactly the most affordable offer out there but EVGA hasn't been going for low prices anyway. It just wants you to OC the heck out of Intel's LGA 1156 quads.

RaidSonic readies a netbook extension tablet
Ahrensburg-based RaidSonic GmbH has this week revealed the Icy Box IB-DK210, a tablet that will enable you to extend the storage options of your netbook. Best paired up with 8.9-inch netbooks, the shiny and black IB-DK210 measures 315 x 600 x 600 mm, has two USB 2.0 ports, and is able to house both a slim SATA optical drive and a 2.5-inch hard drive.
The enclosure/stand is also equipped with a 40mm fan and is set to be available in two versions - one without any kind of drive (ODD or HDD), and one equipped with a Lite-On DS-8A3S slim combo drive. No word on pricing yet but the new Icy Box should hit the stores very soon.
