SilverStone TD03-Slim Review
There is a review of the SilverStone TD03-Slim all-in-one liquid CPU cooler posted over at ThinkComputers today. Overall this a very positive review, here's a quote to get you started:

Everything from the hardware that is included, to the fit and finish of the cooler itself, Silverstone knows how to make a highly polished product. Today we're going to round things out with one final AiO cooler, the TDO3-Slim. This is a 120mm radiator equipped cooler and if you didn't guess from the name, it's quite thin. Let's go ahead and take a look at what we've got and see if this cooler belongs in the SilverStone line-up.

Deepcool Dukase Mid-Tower Review
If you are on a budget and need a new case, the crew at NikKTech say you should consider the Deepcool Dukase mid-tower case.

Although just until recently Deepcool wasn't that much into the design and manufacture of PC cases that has changed with their special Tristellar chassis (we should have a sample of that pretty soon) and now with the Dukase. I have to admit that in terms of build quality the Dukase could be better but thanks to the two side panels which are made by 0.7mm thick SPCC (Cold Rolled Steel Coil) it does have some weight (6.49Kg to be exact) and feels quite sturdy.

Cox Refuses to Spy on Subscribers to Catch Pirates
I happen to side with Cox on this one. How can BMG expect Cox to hand over private customer info without due process, especially when they can't answer even basic questions about the people they are accusing of piracy?

"To the extent the injunction requires either termination or surveillance, it imposes undue hardships on Cox, both because the order is vague and because it imposes disproportionate, intrusive, and punitive measures against households and businesses with no due process." For one, Cox believes that the proposed injunction is vague. It doesn't specify what a repeat infringer is and "What if, for example, the subscriber's computer was infected with malware, the user's network password was stolen, or a neighbor or guest accessed the user's account? BMG's motion and proposed order are silent on these critical questions," Cox writes.

Customers Upset That Adobe Creative Cloud Deletes Files
Adobe issued a fix for Creative Cloud yesterday to address a bug that deleted system files without warning.

After customers updated Creative Cloud, it accessed their hard drive and deleted the first folder that appeared in alphabetical order. Due to file-naming conventions on Mac computers, the bug often deleted hidden system folders or data backup files.

Is A 2 Hour Game Worth $18?
What happens when, as an indy developer, you are asked for a refund because your game is too short? I think this response was pretty classy:

So yes, I am sad when people think this game is not worth the money we asked for (which we thought was a fair ask). It makes me feel like I failed them. It is ok if people don't like the game, but it affects me personally a lot, when people feel like it was not -worth- the time they engaged with it. But do I blame you for wanting to get the most out of your $18? No.

Robots Could Push Unemployment To 50% In 30 years
Who cares about robots pushing the unemployment rate to 50% in 30 years? I'm more worried about the "death by robot" rate once Skynet becomes self-aware.

In 30 years, Vardi says, computers will be able to perform almost any job that humans can. One assumes this includes working as a professor of computational engineering. Vardi foresees unemployment as surpassing 50 percent by 2045.

Twitter Says Dorsey Continues To Refuse Pay
I think all CEOs should forego any form of direct compensation when the company they are running isn't posting a profit.

Dorsey in June agreed to no salary until the company's compensation committee agreed upon a package for him. The committee decided on Wednesday to introduce a performance-based equity compensation program for Twitter's top executives to tie their performance more closely with that of the company, according to the filing.

Apple USB-C Charge Cable Recall
I'm not sure what the hell is going on with Apple and its cables lately but the company has issued another recall, this time for it USB-C charging cables. The good news is that, unlike the cable recall two weeks ago (here), there is no risk of shock or fire.

A limited number of Apple USB-C charge cables that were included with MacBook computers through June 2015 may fail due to a design issue. As a result, your MacBook may not charge or only charge intermittently when it's connected to a power adapter with an affected cable. Apple will provide a new, redesigned USB-C charge cable, free of charge, to all eligible customers. This program also covers Apple USB-C charge cables that were sold as a standalone accessory.
