ASUS Maximus VIII Gene Motherboard Review
The review crew at Hardware Canucks seemed rather impressed with the ASUS Maximus VIII Gene motherboard they just reviewed.

ASUS' Maximus VIII Gene proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that good things can come in small packages. It boasts features normally found on much more expensive boards, allows for some impressive overclocking feats and incorporates several elements that make overclocking more approachable for novices and veterans alike. If there was a motherboard that proves ASUS' design team in on their game, it is this one.

Facebook To Enable Safety Check More After Criticism
Not to defend Facebook, but this is one of those cases where you are damned if you do, damned if you don't.

"Many people have rightfully asked why we turned on Safety Check for Paris but not for bombings in Beirut and other places," said Facebook Chief Executive Officer Mark Zuckerberg on his official account. "Until yesterday, our policy was only to activate Safety Check for natural disasters. We just changed this and now plan to activate Safety Check for more human disasters going forward as well."

Windows' Disk Encryption Could Be Easily Bypassed In 'Seconds'
The ability to bypass BitLocker in a matter of seconds? Yikes! It's a good thing Microsoft has already patched this flaw.

The feature, baked into Windows Vista and later, allows users to lock down their Windows PC with full-disk encryption, making it difficult or near-impossible for an attacker to gain access to data. Prior to BitLocker, an attacker could simply boot up a live Linux operating system and tap into a user's files stored on the hard drive. Now, thanks to the full-disk encryption feature, any potential attacker has to let the boot process run to prevent BitLocker's protections kicking in.

Water Cooling 101: Why Water Cooling and The Gear Used

The crew at Think Computers have put together a water cooling 101 article that gives you a basic rundown on what it takes to get your rig under water.

Water cooling has been around for a very long time and has never been more popular than now. This is due to a number of reasons, including how robust water is at dissipating heat. Water has an enormous capacity for quickly taking on, holding, and expelling heat. Coupled with cleverly designed metal heat sinks called water blocks, water pumps and radiators (again just like in your car), water cooling offers you the ability to take your wimpy stock processor to the next level.

FCC Says It's Legal To Hack Your Router
The Federal Communications Commission wants to assure everyone that it is legal to hack your own router...for the most part.

In a blog post entitled Clearing the Air on Wi-Fi Software Updates, Julius Knapp from the FCC tries to clear up any misunderstandings that may exist. He says that the aim is not to stop people from modifying their routers completely, but to stop them from modifying them in ways that would render them illegal -- such as increasing their power beyond a certain level.

BitTorrent Usage Doesn't Equal Piracy, Cox Tells Court
It's pretty sad that, in this day and age, many people still associate BitTorrent with piracy.

U.S. Internet provider Cox Communications is scheduled to go to trial soon, defending itself against copyright infringement claims from two music companies. In a new motion Cox asks the court to prohibit the use of any material claiming that BitTorrent equals piracy. BitTorrent has plenty legitimate uses and equating it to infringement would mislead the jury during trial, the ISP argues.
