of Kim Davis have rallied around the Kentucky clerk while foes have
lined up in protest since she touted her religious beliefs in defiance
of a court order to issue same-sex marriage licenses. From the
overwhelmed florist in Morehead, Kentucky, delivering bouquets to her
nearby office, to a fellow county clerk biking across the state to show
solidarity, to a Republican presidential candidate calling hers a fight
against tyranny, many are standing with her. This week the U.S.
Supreme Court declined to grant Davis a stay on a federal judge's
injunction that would force her to issue marriage licenses to all
comers.

county clerk in Kentucky sought an emergency injunction on Wednesday to
temporarily block a federal court order requiring her to issue marriage
licenses to same-sex couples, a day before she goes to court to face
contempt charges. Kim Davis, the elected Rowan County clerk, says her
religious beliefs as an Apostolic Christian stop her from issuing
marriage licenses to gay couples despite a U.S. Supreme Court ruling in
June that made gay marriage legal nationwide.

judge on Wednesday ordered individual trials for six Baltimore police
officers charged in the death of a black man from an injury in custody, a
case that fed the U.S. debate on police treatment of minorities.
Baltimore City Circuit Court Judge Barry Williams also rejected defense
motions calling for charges to be dropped and State's Attorney Marilyn
Mosby and her office to recuse themselves from the Freddie Gray case.
The death of Gray, 25, in April from a severe spinal injury suffered in
