New Malware That Makes ATMs Keep Your Card
This is just plain mean.

A new type of malware that can be used to compromise ATMs independently of who their manufacturer is, and can make the machine steal card data but also the cards themselves, has been spotted by FireEye researchers. The dubbed the malware Suceful, after the authors' faulty spelling of the word "successful".

AT&T Employee Tells Why Reps Fail Customers
To be fair, you could replace "AT&T" with the name of damn near every cell phone / broadband / cable provider on the planet and this story would read the same.

"You are right to request a user ID [of the rep]. However, it does not help, as every account is noted with the ID of the rep, and management does nothing to discourage the reps' behavior (as the manager's pay also is negatively affected by each disconnect their rep does). "This goes all the way up to sales center manager, general manager and VP. None of the higher-ups care or do anything to stop it.

Having Sex With Robots Is Really, Really Bad
As a person that loves to overreact and exaggerate any and all stories related to robots, I can honestly say this person is totally overreacting to a problem that doesn't exist. That said....ROBOTS ARE STILL GOING TO KILL US ALL!!!!

"I started thinking, 'Oh, no, something needs to be said about this,'" Kathleen Richardson, a senior research fellow in the ethics of robotics at De Montfort University in Leicester, England, said of her early research into sex robots that recreated what she called the "prostitute-john" relationship. "This is not right."

Snapchat Now Selling Replays
Wait, doesn't this kind of defeat the purpose of Snapchat? Thanks to Nathan H. for the link.

We've provided one Replay per Snapchatter per day, sometimes frustrating the millions of Snapchatters who receive many daily Snaps deserving of a Replay. But then we realized — a Replay is like a compliment! So why stop at just one? Today, U.S. Snapchatters can purchase extra Replays, starting at 3 for $0.99. You can use a Replay on any Snap you receive, but you can only Replay any Snap once. They're a little pricey — but time is money!

Facebook Working On A Dislike Button
I don't mean to sound like a jackass but Zuckerberg makes this sound like a monumental achievement. Seriously, aside from flipping the "like" icon upside down, how hard is it to add a dislike button?

Mark Zuckerberg announced today that Facebook is finally working on a "Dislike" button. "I think people have asked about the dislike button for many years. Today is a special day because today is the day I can say we're working on it and shipping it," Zuckerberg said during a Q&A.

Logitech MX Master Wireless Mouse Review
Need a new wireless mouse? HotHardware seemed to like the Logitech MX Master mouse they just reviewed.

Whether you consider its expanded connectivity options, super-sinister sounding "Darkfield Laser" tracking technology, slick "infiniscroll" capable speed-adaptive scroll wheel, or it's super geek cool polygonal textured finish in its thumbrest area, just about everything was amped-up in this MX reincarnation. And that caused us a hard-stop pause for a double-take of Logitech's latest mechanized rodent.

Facebook's New Read Receipts Promise To Ruin Your Friendships
Dear Facebook, since you think this is a good idea, can you at least give us the option of opting out of event invites altogether?

Ever had a Facebook friend send an event invitation that you ignored, whether it was because you couldn't attend or (let's be honest) had no interest in going? Unfortunately, you may have to explain yourself in the near future. Facebook has confirmed to The Daily Dot that it's testing event read receipts which tell organizers when you've seen an invitation, making it clear when you're avoiding things.

Apple Considering Letting Users Remove Pre-Installed Apps
Remember back when Microsoft said uninstalling IE would cause issues with Windows? Leave it to Apple to copy Microsoft again.

"There are some apps that are linked to something else on the iPhone. If they were to be removed they might cause issues elsewhere on the phone. There are other apps that aren't like that. So over time, I think with the ones that aren't like that, we'll figure out a way [for you to remove them]."

Jeff Bezos Unveils Rocket Plant, Launch Pad In Florida
Remember when huge yachts were the cool thing for billionaires to have? Well, it seems you aren't cool anymore unless you have your own rocket and a launch pad.

The rockets will fly from a refurbished launchpad at Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, located just south of the NASA spaceport.

Two Men Arrested In Multimillion-Dollar Text Message Fraud Scheme
You have to wonder why scammers do stuff like this. I mean, they have to know they are going to get caught. Right?

The six people charged in this scheme have been accused of working together to subscribe millions of mobile customers to horoscope or celebrity gossip services that they had never asked for, for $10 per month. Two of the conspirators worked for a premium text billing service based in Australia, and they were asked to write a program that would generate fake authorizations to bill mobile carriers for content, so it would appear that customers had authorized these services that they had never heard of.
