Google Launches Free Version of Play Music Service
Google has announced that as of today it is creating an ad supported version of its Play Music streaming service, with immediate availability on Android and the web with planned support for iOS soon. The free service will incorporate curated playlists that were obtained as part of the Songza acquisition last year. By using playlists and acting as "music radio" rather than using an on-demand structure similar to the free version of Spotify, Google hopes to avoid criticisms that artists are being underpaid. Google Play Music product manager Elias Roman believes that listeners will accept their lack of control over the music they are listening to saying "They want the music to be awesome. They want it to be contextually relevant, but they don’t want to tweak a lot of knobs." Free users will face a number of restrictions not placed on pay users including six skips per hour, inability to rewind, or see what songs are coming up.

Batman: Arkham Knight Plagued by Issues at Launch
Batman: Arkham Knight was released today on PC and despite updated drivers from AMD and NVIDIA designed for the game, it has faced a number of serious issues to go along with the launch. The issues appear to be mostly related to graphics and audio performance which include frame drops, audio glitches, and video stuttering. The frame rate is also capped at 30 FPS by default, though this can be remedied through editing a config file. Developer Rocksteady has acknowledged the issues stating, "We're aware that some users are reporting performance issues with the PC version of Batman: Arkham Knight. This is something that Rocksteady takes very seriously. We are working closely with our external PC development partner to make sure these issues get resolved as quickly as possible." From this statement we have learned that an external studio was used to create the PC port, which could explain some of the lack in quality.
