Boston Marathon bomber on Monday wrapped up the case to spare Dzhokhar
Tsarnaev's life with testimony from a Roman Catholic nun and

Three shot near Santa Barbara, California, university campus
(Reuters)
- Three people were shot near the campus of the University of
California at Santa Barbara on Monday evening, according to campus and
fire officials, but no further details were immediately available and it
was not clear if anyone was killed. The Santa Barbara County Fire
Department website said the shooting occurred in the community of Isla
Vista. A UC Santa Barbara security alert said a male suspect was seen
fleeing the area in a white sedan around 7:30 p.m. and advised residents
to stay indoors while police searched the area. The shooting comes
roughly a year after Elliot Rodger, 22, stabbed three men to death in
his Isla Vista apartment before fatally shooting three more people near
the campus.
