Ex-Naughty Dog developer 'two more console generations for CG visuals'
With the current generation consoles getting close to their two year anniversaries, we're still not seeing 1080p 60FPS gameplay in most AAA titles, let alone "CG quality visuals". But, according to ex-Naughty Dog developer and Filmic Worlds' founder John Hable, we're around two generations away from CG quality visuals in games.

He continued, saying that it will be another two console cycles before we see 4K hitting CG quality, where he said: "I don't have a good answer for you, but my guess would be longer than you think. One more console generation seems too quick. Maybe in two more generations? That would be PS6 and the 5th gen Xbox? And if we need to render in 4k then add another generation which puts us at PS7 and 6th gen Xbox. It'll be a while. Of course, they will never fully line up because of the content costs. Trailers and feature-length movies simply have a much higher budget per second than what the full game can afford. This difference is more than an order of magnitude in some cases".
I think we won't even see a PlayStation 6, but I do think we'll see a PlayStation 5. Consoles as we know it will disappear as things get smaller, and with SoCs already shrinking down to 14nm and things like the NVIDIA Tegra X1 pushing 4K60, it won't be long before your tiny little smartphone can very easily outclass a console, even a 'next-gen' console.
This generation of consoles can barely handle 1080p, with most games rendering at nearly the same resolution as the previous generation consoles, with prettier visuals. VR is what's going to really come in and shake things up, as there'll be a very big need for 4K60 gaming and beyond with photorealistic graphics.

Survey: Demand for Apple Watch is extremely high in China
There is extremely high interest in the Apple Watch smartwatch in China, helping drive sales of the wearable, according to a survey from UBS. The company previously estimated there would be 40 million Apple Watch units sold during the company's fiscal 2016, but has decreased that number down to 31 million units.

Prior to the global launch of the Apple Watch, analysts expected China would have a major role in selling Apple Watch units. Consumers are frustrated with supply problems related to the Apple Watch, with eight percent of consumers claiming they may purchase a watch model.

Noctua releases two new asymmetrical 140mm air coolers
Don't be put off by the codename-like product naming scheme, Noctua has been known for quite a while now as one of the biggest players in the air cooling game - there was a time where you couldn't head to a LAN party and see less than 40 DH-14 coolers humming away atop Intel i5 and i7 CPUs.

Both coolers are complete with Noctua's pro-grade SecuFirm2 multi-socket mounting system, six years' manufacturer's warranty and some NT-H1 thermal compound.
Both of these new products are available in shops soon, expect to pay $74.90 for the NH-C14S and $79.90 for the NH-D15S.
Do you think the product names and styling looks a little familiar? Well you'd be right, because these coolers are single-fan re-releases of previous models.

Companies scrambling to create consumer-ready flying cars by 2017
The auto industry has a lot of new and exciting breakthroughs, with much attention focused on autonomous vehicle research and connected cars. However, a growing number of companies are trying to produce flying cars that could be just a couple years away.

There are numerous regulatory issues that must be addressed, and that alone could take years. It's going to be a continued battle for manufacturers to prove that their vehicles are fit to drive on the road - and take to the sky.
"Building something that works is different than [building] something that's allowed," said Robert Dingemanse, CEO of PAL-V, in a statement published by CNN. PAL-V is currently working on a gyrocopter-style vehicle that already meets traditional road rules - and air regulations.

Starbucks and Spotify enter music partnership to its retail stores
Starbucks has entered a music streaming partnership with Spotify, allowing the coffee chain's My Starbucks Rewards members to access Starbucks music on Spotify. They will be able to offer input on in-store music playlists, along with other key benefits.

This is the first time that Starbucks has allowed third-party companies a crack at its loyalty program - and is a high-profile agreement for both companies.
"We plan on building one of the most robust digital ecosystems of any retailer in the world," said Kevin Johnson, president and COO of Starbucks. "Given the evolution of the music industry and the proliferation of streaming technology, it was natural that we would partner with Spotify in offering our customers a new way to engage with their favorite music."

AT&T working on providing exclusive content for connected cars
The fight is on to provide content to connected cars, with AT&T reportedly preparing exclusive content that can be streamed to mobile devices. The videos, music and games could be available by the end of 2015, with AT&T already working with eight automakers.

"It's no different than being able to hook onto a Wi-Fi hotspot anywhere and get access to content you already subscribe to and get unique content that you could only get in the back of the vehicle," said Chris Penrose, SVP of emerging devices at AT&T, in a statement published by Reuters.
Wireless carriers in the US believe connected cars could be a major growth opportunity, as most Americans own a mobile device - with AT&T and other carriers expecting to create revenue from streaming content.

BlackBerry CEO apparently isn't ready to give up on smartphones
BlackBerry CEO John Chen has found ways to help reinvigorate the company as it looks beyond smartphones - but that doesn't mean the Canadian smartphone manufacturer has given up on phones.

"I can only make iPhone so much more secure, but if I can't make it as secure as a BlackBerry device," Chen told Business Insider. "If you look at the US Army, they're still rolling out all BlackBerry. If I tell them there are no more phones, I lose that account. The question is how do you make phones profitable at the volume those people represent?"
BlackBerry has released several new smartphones in recent years - and while some reviews were positive - the company still has virtually zero phone market share.

Nissan pledges to have self-driving cars on the road by 2020
Nissan wants to have vehicles with self-driving technology on the road by 2020, but CEO Carlos Ghosn is curious to see if drivers are willing to embrace the new features. The company previously promised delivery of autonomous technology by 2020 - but there will need to be government approval, as new laws will need to be created for self-driving cars.

In addition to multiple auto makers embracing autonomous technology, Google and other Silicon Valley companies also are contributing software and hardware. Nissan just doesn't want to embrace autonomous vehicles, as there is a heavy focus on improving connectivity of future car models.

If you weren't currently aware, California is currently going through a serious drought with water officials reporting that "growers have been sucking more water from the ground than nature or man has put back for decades" with many more sobering statistics involved.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been pointed out as a specific example among many others, sporting lush green lawns and full swimming pools amid a barren desert landscape, without any real measures put in place to curb their water usage in the immediate or distant future alongside. TRENDnet TEW-828DRU AC3200 Tri-Band Wireless Router Review
Introduction

As far as wireless routers are concerned, AC3200 solutions allow the best mix of old and new technologies to coexist on the same network. As many of you know, when connecting legacy devices to a modern network, those devices can often bring the entire network to a halt. With AC3200 solutions bringing three band Wi-Fi to the table, users can safely connect older devices to the legacy 2.4GHz 802.11n network, along with having a second option on the 5GHz band. This leaves an entire band for modern 802.11ac solutions, and as a bonus, many solutions like the TRENDnet in the lab today, often have some sort of "Smart" option for combining the two 5GHz bands and allowing the router to choose what network your devices are dispersed on by signal strength and performance.
The TRENDnet TEW-828DRU shares the same platform characteristics found in both the Linksys and Netgear solutions. This means we have a dual-core 1GHz processor covering six 802.11ac streams and three 802.11n streams, no mention is made about the amount of RAM or flash included on this model, but as the previous two tested platforms have confirmed, we should have 256MB of memory and 128MB of flash.

The TRENDnet TEW-828DRU carries a MSRP of $309.99 with a market leading three-year warranty.
