Embedded DisplayPort 1.4a sets stage for 8K notebooks
VESA has released a new Embedded DisplayPort standard that supports higher resolutions and a new panel segmentation system. The eDP 1.4a spec builds upon version 1.4, which dates back to 2013, and it's expected to appear in systems by next year.

Nvidia has gotten into the habit of timing GeForce driver releases with major game launches, and today's is no different. The GeForce 347.52 WHQL drivers feature performance optimizations and an SLI profile for Evolve, the co-op sci-fi shooter by Left 4 Dead creators Turtle Rock Studios. Anyone can now buy a OnePlus One... on Tuesdays
Since April, the OnePlus One smartphone has been available only to an exclusive club. Outside of a few limited-time sales, customers have to be invited just to buy the thing. Invitations are admittedly easy to come by—it only took me a few minutes to track one down on Reddit back in January—but that's still a silly way to sell a sweet handset.
