Microsoft Announces FIDO Support Coming to Windows 10
Today, Microsoft was a participant at the United States White House Cybersecurity and Consumer Protection Summit at Stanford University where industry leaders gathered to discuss collaborative opportunities and new developments that will bolster cybersecurity. Representing Microsoft at the event was Scott Charney, Corporate Vice President of Trustworthy Computing, who is responsible for a range of corporate programs that influence the security of Microsoft's products, services, and internal networks.

I'm happy to announce Microsoft has contributed design inputs to the Fast IDentity Online (FIDO) Alliance, to be incorporated within FIDO 2.0 Technical Specifications. Transitioning away from passwords and to a stronger form of identity is one of the great challenges that we face in online computing, and we believe FIDO authentication, which is the subject of great discussion here at the White House summit, is the pathway to success. To address this challenge we joined the FIDO Alliance, where we are working alongside major industry partners to change the nature of authentication by developing specifications that define an open, scalable, interoperable set of mechanisms that supplant reliance on passwords to more securely authenticate users of online services.

AT&T CEO Warns FCC Over Net Neutrality
The net neutrality issue aside, I personally enjoy the sweet, sweet sound of falling tears.

Stephenson said in a "Squawk Box" interview that aired Friday that he supports the original idea of net neutrality, which set out to preserve a "free and open Internet ... without any blocking and without any prioritization." But he argued, "We have now, under the president's urging with the FCC, moved from pursuing a free and open Internet to regulating the Internet end to end."

Antec ISK 600M
If you are building a new HTPC, this review of the Antec ISK 600M at techPowerUP will no doubt be of interest.

Antec aimed to take the ISK 600 and enlarge it with the ISK 600M - for a mATX board, more hard drives, and better cooling, and it does so while re-defining some design elements in the front. Will this bigger version of the ISK 600 manage to leave a mark and is bigger better in this particular case?

Hackers Stole At Least $300M In Bank Heists
Who needs a gun to rob a bank for a couple thousand when you can use a computer to get more than three hundred million?

Kaspersky Lab says it has seen evidence of $300 million in theft through clients, and believes the total could be triple that. But that projection is impossible to verify because the thefts were limited to $10 million a transaction, though some banks were hit several times. In many cases the hauls were more modest, presumably to avoid setting off alarms.

Video Game Violence and Pseudoscience: Bad Science, Fear, and Politics
I don't know about you guys, but this is the first time I've seen this article. I recommend reading this if you haven't done so already, it is definitely good reading. Thanks to forum member 'tubular' for the link.

In 2011, the U.S. Supreme Court considered an effort by the state of California to regulate violent video game sales to minors (Brown v. EMA, 2011). In speaking about studies California used to support its regulatory efforts the majority decision of the court said: These studies have been rejected by every court to consider them, and with good reason: They do not prove that violent video games cause minors to act aggressively.
