3D Is Dead. Will 4k And 8k TV Make It?
Are we taking bets? Will 4k and 8K TVs make it or will they go the way of 3D TVs?

There's just one problem: the content. As it stands now, you can get HD programming via cable but the bulk of it isn't even true HD, it's 720p resolution. That's not really a factor in many cases, it's just a reality that cable wires simply cannot handle the bandwidth of a true 1080p image. For example, AT&T U-Verse's DVRs cannot handle more than 4 simultaneous streams.

Crooks Stole DVDs By Mailing Them From The Store
I'm not sure if this is a stupid criminal of the day story or if these guys are brilliant. I'll let you decide.

Thieves at a Walmart-owned ASDA supermarket in Cheshire, England managed to evade security after they began packing movies and other stolen goods into envelopes. Instead of walking out with the goods, where they'd be instantly apprehended, they came up with the clever idea to send the packages to themselves using the in-store Post Office.

Bungie Finally Addressing Heavy Ammo Glitch
After months of ignoring players complaints about this bug (and many others), it seems Bungie might be finally getting the message that fixing the actual game is more important than patching loot caves and cheese spots.

If you've spent any time reading about Destiny on a forum where Guardians congregate, you know this is far from hypothetical. It happens to us all. It makes Raids harder to clear. It deprives you of precious Glimmer, and patience. Frankly, it sucks. For some time now, we've been tracking this one. To date, the best we've been able to do is to admit that we were aware of the issue. This week, we can give you some additional information.

Corsair Graphite 780T Case
There is a review of the Corsair Graphite 780T posted at Techgage today. You can see our evaluation here for comparison purposes.

All too often, design and style exist in conflict with each other. Form follows function, as the saying goes. But sometimes, we see products which are as beautifully-styled as they are well-designed. Corsair's Graphite 780T full-tower becomes a perfect example of this – it's great looking and functional.

Reddit's first transparency report reveals that the company gives up user data to the authorities 58% of the time. Hey, at least it's not 100%.

In 2014, we decided not to provide user information in response to 42% of all government and civil requests for private information. We pushed back and did not remove content in 69% of requests to remove content.

Amazon Surprises Investors With A Gift Of Profit
It looks like the holidays were good to Amazon this year. The company posted a $214 million profit on revenue of almost $30 billion.

The company on Thursday reported a profit of $214 million, or 45 cents a share, on revenue of $29.33 billion, exceeding some analysts' estimates of 17 cents a share on $29.68 billion in revenue. The results show that Amazon learned from the mistakes it made last year when its delivery partners FedEx and UPS ended up with a backlog of packages that caused some shipments to arrive at customers' doorsteps after Christmas.

Wikipedia Banning Editors Over Gamergate Controversy
Apparently Wikipedia is having a rough time keeping its editors from getting involved in all the Gamergate controversy so they had to dish out some bans.

A group of trusted, long-term volunteer English Wikipedia editors (known as the Arbitration Committee) is now reviewing the conduct of the editors who participated on the Gamergate controversy article discussions. Their mandate is to review editor conduct, and address disruptions so that Wikipedia can remain a civil, productive place for all editors. They may do so through issuing warnings, bans, or other means. The Committee does not consider the identity or beliefs of contributors, nor do they make editorial decisions on the content or quality of Wikipedia articles.

AMD Kaveri-Refresh Coming Summer 2015?
If I am reading this right (via translator), the folks at Sweclockers claim that AMD will be launching a new APU this summer.

Kaveri "Godavari" is generally identical today and uses the same infrastructure, ie socket FM2 + and support for DDR3 memory at 2133 MHz. This includes four cores Steamroller and up to eight GCN cores, ie 512 stream processors. Again becomes instead retained TDP values with higher frequencies, anything that is said to bring in 10-15 percent higher performance against the current 7000 series.
