GTA V boss talks about sales bans, says it's really 'disappointing'
We know that both Target and Kmart Australia have banned Grand Theft Auto V from their shelves, with a petition that has been fired back by peeved gamers that want to see the Bible banned from sale, too. Well, now Take-Two Interactive's Chairman and CEO, Karl Slatoff has stepped up to talk about it all.

He also talked about the petition, and that the results were an infringement on free speech, where he added: "For a person or a group of people to try to make that decision for millions of people... We have 34 million people who bought Grand Theft Auto, and if these folks had their way, none of those people would be able to buy Grand Theft Auto. And that really just flies in the face of everything that free society is based on. It's the freedom of expression, and to try to squelch that is a dangerous and slippery slope to go down".
Take-Two's business will not be affected at the end of the day, which is something Slatoff reiterated by saying: "It's really more disappointing for us in that regard than it is in the context of our business. Our business is going to be completely unaffected by this; it doesn't make a difference to us. At the end of the day though, it's not something you want because it's a poor leadership decision".

LastPass automatically changes your passwords on hacked websites
LastPass has just released their new feature, allowing the password manager program to automatically change your password on certain websites if they have been hacked or compromised.

Once finalized, LastPass automatically changes your passwords for you. This is done by it opening up the browser locally on your screen, logging in and changing the password automatically. There hasn't been any mention on exactly how LastPass gets the hack information delivered directly, but it's a seemingly good precaution to have just in case something goes wrong. Currently supporting Chrome, Safari and Firefox, this automatic feature is featured in Beta format. The point of this program is to manage multiple websites all under one banner, allowing it to quickly and efficiently deal with threats without you having to do it manually step-by-step.

Addonics releases ultra-fast portable HDD/SSD readers
Coming out of San Jose, CA - Addonics Technologies has recently announced their UDD25, a pocket-sized device family that can read multiple data storage devices ranging from 2.5-inch HDD's to CF Cards.

When connected to an eSATA 3.0 port, these devices claim a peak transfer speed of 6 Gbps, lowered slightly to 5 Gbps if you're utilizing a USB 3.0 connection. With new products like this on the market listed for a low $45, alongside SSD's reaching an ultra-low pricing structure, don't be surprised to see some people using this kind of technology to start transferring data compared to your standard 500 GB+ pre-built HDD enclosure. Not only is this smaller and lighter, it's going to be a lot faster too.
I remember back to my high schooling period, when flash drives were uncommon, I would use a CF card reader with a 32mb card installed to transfer my data around - what's stopping you now using a super-cheap 120GB SSD to take your high-capacity projects to school? This could work wonders for working on projects like housing design or 3D modelling tasks.
Both the internal and portable devices are available now from Shop Addonics and major retail stores including Amazon and Buy.com.

Creative Assembly adds two new difficulty modes to Alien: Isolation
Alien: Isolation is one of the scariest, most atmospheric games ever made... so why not make it even harder? That must be the exact train of thought that Creative Assembly, the developer of the game, is on, as they've just announced two new difficulty modes for the game. Novice, and Nightmare.

The Novice mode for the game provides a slower, less adaptive and not-so-clicked-on Xenomorph, which can be good for gamers who don't want to be replacing their pants every 15 minutes. The combat in Alien: Isolation is also dialled down a notch on Novice, making it easier to play through the game in general.

DICE still have content on its way for Battlefield 4
Even after the release of Final Stand, the fifth piece of DLC for Battlefield 4, DICE has said that they're not finished with the game. The developer has said that it wants to see gamers continue to tell them what they'd like to see in the form of future DLC for the first-person shooter.

Polygon reports that we could expect more reimagined maps, which are maps from the older Battlefield 4 games, remade in the well-powered Frostbite 3 engine. EA and DICE will have to do something with BF4, as there's no flagship Battlefield game coming out until 2016, with Battlefield 5 promised for two years from now. Battlefield: Hardline is coming next year, being developed by Visceral Games, but it's not a "true" Battlefield 4 successor. Bring on 2016.

Piratebay servers raided by Swedish police, might be down for good
Some users have noticed that The Piratebay has been down for a much longer time than the normal sporadic downtime bursts. At 12 hours, and counting, many have suspected the worst. Google recently moved against apps made for Android devices that accessed the popular site, and many had speculated that Google may have had a hand in Piratebay's disrupted service. It turns out Swedish police are the culprit. The Piratebay, deemed the "The galaxy's most resilient BitTorrent site", had its apocalyptic safe haven in Sweden raided by the police.

The server room was found in a rock shelter in Nacka, Sweden. This is likely the secure Swedish Datacenter AB. This datacenter is housed inside a five-story building inside a gigantic rock cavern. The converted nuclear shelter has concrete walls and the requisite blast doors to hold back the worst of catastrophes, but it couldn't stop the Swedish police. It's hard to believe that one of the largest websites in the world, currently ranked 88 worldwide and 55 in the US, can be kept off-line for long. An employee was arrested during the raid, and there are apparently interrogations underway. We will keep an eye on the status of the site, and shout a joyful "Hallelujah!" if they manage to bring it back online.

Countries developing cyber armies, finding good return on investment
China and Russia are two of the largest cyberespionage threats to the Western world, but countries like North Korea are able to cause significant damage on relatively modest budgets, cybersecurity experts warn.

"While North Korea's massive conventional forces have been declining due to aging and lack of resources... North Korea is emphasizing the development of its asymmetric capabilities," said Gen. Curtis Scaparrotti, United States Forces Korea commander. "Cyber warfare is an important asymmetric dimension of conflict that North Korea will probably continue to emphasize - in part because of its deniability and low relative costs."

HBO reportedly set to launch its standalone online service in April
HBO reportedly will push its standalone video service live in April, just in time for the Game of Thrones season premiere, according to unconfirmed reports. It would be great timing for HBO, as Game of Thrones averages 18.4 million viewers per episode, and could attract users to the service.

HBO and other broadcasters want to embrace streaming video - utilizing standalone Internet-based services - as a way to attract customers interested in cord cutting. There has been some resistance to the effort, especially from cable and satellite providers, but premium subscription companies must adjust based on changing customer demands.

Nintendo continues momentum into best potential Christmas in years
Nintendo has endured several years of uncertainty and chaos, but appears to be ready to end 2014 on an extremely high note. Despite losing $193 million in 2013, Nintendo has enjoyed success from Super Smash Bros., Mario Kart 8, and Amiibo, the company will also sell an estimated 3.6 million Wii U console units in 2014. Amiibo sales in the US should top $1 billion, and shows President Satoru Iwata's decision of sticking with game titles for Nintendo devices alone isn't as disastrous as once believed.

It may have taken longer than expected, but the Wii U game catalog continues to strengthen - after poor sales in 2012 and 2013 - as Nintendo caters to a niche gaming demographic when compared to Microsoft and Sony.

CMStorm QuickFire Rapid-i TKL Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review
Introduction, Specifications and Pricing

It is highly unlikely that you want to take your new keyboard outdoors and run it over, as you may scuff the surface treatments. However, it is reassuring to know that if a 4X4 can run these over and they can take it, then they can take anything you can dish out. These keyboards will outlast heated game play, and even with a super aggressive temper, it is unlikely that slamming your fists or throwing this keyboard will cause any functional damage either.
It has been a while since we last toured a mechanical keyboard from CMStorm, but here we are again in the QuickFire series that originally took us from rubber dome keys into Cherry MX green switches in the Trigger. The Trigger was so nice, and so tough, that after three years of solid use, and a second set of key caps, the Trigger is still working great for our team. I have passed the Trigger along to another team member, and the reason I did so is that the full lifespan of clicks is nearly used up, and while everything remains completely functional, the springs have softened, and feel more like blue switches. Also, with so many new products arriving, I have made the move to TKL boards, but did not have the heart to toss the Trigger in the bin. After all of that time, CMStorm mechanical keyboards have found their way into a special place in our hearts.
Speaking of Ten Key Less (TKL) keyboards, we are here today to see one of the latest TLK keyboards from CMStorm and their QuickFire series, the Rapid-i. Of course, that means we lose the number pad, but we also lose the need for drivers in this instance as well. That does not completely take away from the Rapid-i and its optional functionality either. There are still some very cool lighting modes, you can adjust the repeat rate, there are profiles for lighting and key assignment, and there is a set of multi-media keys as well. There are a few other nice features to this latest design, and if you are in the market for a TKL, then the CMStorm QuickFire Rapid-i is a serious contender for your hard earned money.

Back on the chart, following the LED information, we see discussion of the USB 2.0 connection, which is on a removable braided cable that is 1.8 meters long, and uses a Micro-USB connection in the back of this keyboard. We also see this keyboard is set full time to NKRO support with a 1ms polling rate. The key caps are made of ABS plastic, and have a black coating on them that offers a bit of grip. We see there is 128KB of onboard memory for profiles of lighting schemes and button reassignments in the M-keys. We also see mention of the F-keys for the lighting and repeat rate settings, and even the multimedia keys.
The last bits in the chart show us the dimensions of the Rapid-I; this TKL is less than fifteen inches wide. The Rapid-I weighs 932 grams, features a two-year warranty, and comes with a key puller.
There is still one surprise yet to disclose. As we shopped around for the version of the Rapid-i with the blue Cherry MX switches, we saw listings at $149.99. This made us double take, and we had to double check that this was the correct pricing, and with Newegg.com, Amazon.com, and a few others all in agreement, this is indeed one of the priciest TKL keyboards we have seen in a while. That is not to say that it's not worth the price, but with a price this lofty, CMStorm had better be on their toes with the QuickFire Rapid-i, and be able to prove to us the worth of this latest design in mechanical keyboards.
