FCC Gets AT&T to Back Off Its Fiber Freeze Bluff
I guess that is what AT&T gets for talking out its AS&S.
Earlier this month AT&T responded to the President's clear support of Title II by bluffing and claiming they were freezing all fiber investment to "up to" 100 cities. If you've been around here for a while you know that AT&T's plans to deploy fiber to 100 cities was always a heavy dose of smoke and mirrors to begin with. In their heavily-redacted response letter to the FCC this week, AT&T basically walks back their bluff, insisting that the FCC misunderstood what they said.

Google Inc. (GOOG) will have to change how it applies the right to be forgotten to its websites beyond the European Union under rules drafted by the EU's privacy chiefs. The guidelines also rebuke the owner of the world's most-used search engine for routinely notifying news outlets about story links it has removed -- a process that has thrown some people who'd sought extra privacy back into the media spotlight.

US-CERT Regin Malware Alert
The United States Computer Emergency Readiness Team has issued a warning today about the Regin malware that, according to reports last month, was created by our government.
Regin is a multi-staged, modular threatmeaning it has a number of components, each dependent on others to perform an attack. Each of the five stages is hidden and encrypted, with the exception of the first stage. The modular design poses difficulties to analysis, as all components must be available in order to fully understand the Trojan.
