Courts Say $30K Fine For Pirated Movie is Excessive Punishment
I think we can all agree that there should be punishment for pirating movies but common sense says a $30,000 fine is just stupid. Thankfully the courts agree.

U.S. Gov Insists It Doesn't Stockpile Zero-Day Exploits
Our government swears it isn't stockpiling zero-day exploits to hack our enemies. You know, because they have their hands full exploiting average citizens.

For years the government has refused to talk about or even acknowledge its secret use of zero-day software vulnerabilities to hack into the computers of adversaries and criminal suspects. This year, however, the Obama administration finally acknowledged in a roundabout way what everyone already knew—that the National Security Agency and law enforcement agencies sometimes keep information about software vulnerabilities secret so the government can exploit them for purposes of surveillance and sabotage.

Barbie Computer Engineer Book Author Called 'Sexist'
It's a good thing this author wasn't a guy or they would have demanded a public flogging. No word on what kind of shirts the author likes to wear in her spare time.

The author, Susan Marenco, who previously worked at Microsoft Development Center Copenhagen for 10 years as an "editor and usability designer specializing in linguistic usability," told ABC News this afternoon she considers herself a feminist and regrets that she may have let stereotypes slip into the book. But the assignment was to write about Barbie as a "designer," she added.

Robohouse Pumped Simulated Sweat And Breath Into Empty Homes
Good news! I hear there are a couple houses up for sale in Tennessee! The former tenants were sweaty robots. Ewww.

It looks like Nielsen is following through with its plans to measure subscription online video services like Neflix and Amazon.
