Steve Jobs Has Won 141 Patents Since His Death
Steve Jobs legacy continues to grow even in death. Over the past three years since his passing, Jobs has won 141 patents posthumously from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
Altogether, a third of the 458 patented inventions and designs credited to Jobs have been approved since he died.

LG Names New Mobile Boss in Annual Reshuffle
The news out of South Korea's LG Electronics is the change in CEO's in the LG Electronics' mobile phone division. Juno Cho will be replacing current CEO, Park Jong-seok on December 1st due to health issues. Park Jong-seok will remain with the division as Chief Technical Adviser.
LG also commenced a group-wide realignment of affiliates LG Display, LG InnoTek, and LG Chem on the same day, though only minor changes in the mid-level were announced.

Music Publishers Finally Sue an ISP Over Piracy
Music publishers are skipping the middle man and going straight to the source for copyright infringement. Cox Communications has been sued by two music concerns for failing to take actions against illegal downloaders serviced by the ISP.
There's little precedent for a lawsuit trying to hold an ISP responsible for users engaged in piracy. If a judge finds Cox liable for the actions of users on its network, it will have major implications for the company and the whole cable industry.

Sony Pictures Investigates North Korea Link in Hack Attack
Sony has had a bad week since its network ground to a halt while under cyber attack. Sony is now investigating the link between the attacks and the release of a Sony film called The Interview. In the film, CIA operatives are engaged to assassinate the leader of North Korea. North Korea has warned of reprisals if the film makes it into theaters.
Similarly devastating attacks have been blamed on North Korea in the past. Last year, North Korea was said to have been behind an attack against two South Korean TV broadcast networks as well as its financial system.

Google Fiber Pricing Released for Austin, Sign-Ups Next Month
Google has just about finished the job of laying the groundwork for its upcoming rollout of Google Fiber in Austin and just announced the actual cost and terms of the service. Signups will begin in December and service will commence shortly there afterwards.
The US search giant plans to sell the standard Gigabit+TV Fiber package for $130/month and for this you get 150 TV channels and a DVR with support for recording 8 channels at once. A $300 installation fee is required to install the service, but this will be waived if a one-year contract is signed.

Nintendo Patents Game Boy Emulation for Mobile Devices
Nintendo has filed for a patent to create an emulator for mobile devices to play all of the Game Boy games. This would represent a big shift over at Nintendo where there has been resistance to porting to other platforms. There has been no official confirmation from Nintendo about future plans on the mobile device emulator as yet.
Many have called for the company to consider making its signature titles available on smartphone devices as a way to shore up struggling hardware sales, but thus far the company has seemed reluctant to the idea.

Netflix CEO Predicts Broadcast TV's Death by 2030
Reed Hastings, CEO of Netflix doesn't mince his words when referring to broadcast TV. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Hastings gave broadcast TV just 16 years to live before streaming media becomes the mainstream.
"It's kind of like the horse, you know, the horse was good until we had the car," Hastings said, according to The Hollywood Reporter. "The age of broadcast TV will probably last until 2030.
