AT&T Doubles Data Plan Sizes in Huge Limited-Time Promo
If you are a present customer of AT&T and meet the requirement of having two or more lines or thinking of becoming a customer, AT&T will be having a month-long promo that will double your data plan just for the asking. The promotion is limited, but the doubling of data is permanent.
Of note, while these new plans are part of a limited-time promotion, the increased data plan sizes do not expire; if you switch to a promotional plan before November, the size of your data bucket will remain doubled until you cancel your service or switch to a new plan.

Affordable Vizio 4K Ultra High Def TV Now Available
Vizio, the Dollar General of affordable television screens, has announced the availability of what the company promised back in January at CES: affordable 4K UHD LCD TV. The 50" P-Series pricing starts at just $1K.
The new sets have a native refresh rate of 240Hz, as well as a simulated "Clear Action Rate" of 960Hz if you're really into the soap-opera effect. To handle all that motion processing and 4K content, the P-series is driven by six processing cores: A quad-core GPU and a dual-core CPU.

Next-Gen MMO Canned by Blizzard
Welp, that's seven years of research and development down the drain. Blizzard has just announced the company has finally admitted defeat and is pulling the plug on development of the next gen MMO it has been working on for the past seven years known only by its codename: Titan.
Blizzard has a few things in development like the next Starcraft expansion and the next expansion for World of Warcraft, but it does look like a new MMO from Blizzard isn't in the cards right now or in the near future.

Yahoo Killing Off Yahoo After 20 Years
Another large piece of Yahoo history is becoming just that; history. Yahoo announced on Friday that the Yahoo Directory will be retired on January 31st For any and all of you that remember, this was the signature product of a young startup company that built Yahoo into the company it is today.
Over the last two years, Yahoo has shut down more than 60 products and services in a bid to do fewer things better. The directory has escaped previous culls, but has finally been deemed surplus to requirements.

Windows 8 Users to Get Free Upgrade to Windows 9
Take this for what it's worth; an unconfirmed report from an Indonesian source says that systems running Windows 8 will be entitled to a free upgrade to the upcoming Windows 9/Threshold/Whatever OS. We will know soon, since Microsoft already has a press conference called for September 30th. What better way of putting a bad version of Windows to bed than giving free upgrades to a (hopefully) better system?
All though not much is known about Windows 9 and Microsoft hasn't officially confirmed or launched the new OS yet, it is rumored to be revealed during the September 30 press event.

Data breach at Jimmy John's Larger Than First Thought
Hackers broke through security at Signature Systems, a payment vendor handling Jimmy John's restaurants and hundreds of other businesses as well. The breach spans a three month period where attackers collected customer data from 216 company stores.
The company is asking customers who used payment cards at the restaurants to watch for fraudulent charges and notify their bank if they appear.

Amazon Completes Acquisition of Twitch
It's now officially a done deal: Twitch has now been acquired by Amazon with a price tag of $970 Million bucks.
The company's CEO, Emmett Shear, said earlier this month that he sold Twitch to Amazon rather than Google, which had been pursuing the site to maintain independence.
