NFL and Microsoft Partner Up for Sideline Tablet Access
The NFL and Microsoft are joining forces to bring more high tech to the sidelines this year. Already approved by the NFL, Microsoft will be providing 25 Surface Pro 2 tablets for each team for sideline play review.
That all said, the NFL still remains a bit technophobic; the tablets themselves will be unable to access the Internet, for fear that any potential advantage could be gleaned by browsing over to "otherteamsplaybook.com," or what-have-you.

Chrome Passes 20% Share Milestone, Locks Up 2nd Place
It's that time again when someone or another rates the browser shares and starts another version of browser wars. In this iteration, Chrome was the clear winner, moving up to take 20% of the browser market with both Internet Explorer and Firefox losing shares.

A microchip, that once implanted under the skin, can administer a birth control drug for up to 16 years and be turned off or on by remote control, but is it safe?
A hacker would have to contact the patient's skin to reach the device, and all and the commands are sent by radio frequency rather than by Bluetooth. The short range also makes it impossible for a hacker to 'listen in'.

Dark Net Drugs Adverts Double in Less Than a Year
In the war on drugs, nationally and internationally, governments are fighting a losing battle. The harder enforcement agencies try, the faster the illegal sources step up their illegal activities. BBC News found that within the last year since the FBI closed down the 'Silk Road', illegal drug traffic has more than doubled on the 'Dark Net'.
In October 2013, there were 18,174 drugs listings across four main markets, according to the internet safety organization Digital Citizens Alliance, based in the US. A recent trawl of the dark net by BBC News revealed there were now 43,175 listings across 23 markets.

Apple Refutes Beats Layoff Rumors
According to an Apple spokesperson, the beat really does go on. Apple took the offensive on Friday, denying rumors that the company had laid off 200 employees after Apple officially took over control of Beats.
"We're excited to have the Beats team join Apple, and we have extended job offers to every Beats employee," Neumayr said. "Because of some overlap in our operations, some offers are for a limited period and we'll work hard during this time to find as many of these Beats employees as we can another permanent job within Apple."

It appears that Facebook users are dead serious about being having access to their favorite Internet site. Nothing should stand in the way of their right to access and if it does, it's an emergency of the highest order.
