Chrome and Firefox Developers Add Virtual Reality Support
The writing is on the wall, showing just how much virtual reality will play a part in our daily lives in the near future. You can see it for yourself in virtual reality pretty soon using Chrome and Firefox browsers. Both browser teams are at work installing VR components into their respective beta editions.
"The opportunity for VR on the Web is particularly exciting," says Vukićević. "The Web is a vibrant, connected universe where many different types of experiences can be created and shared".

Gears of War Designer Returns to Video Gaming
Twenty year veteran of Epic Games, Cliff Bleszinski, is returning to video game production after a two year hiatus. Bleszinski and Arjan Brussee, late of EA and Guerrilla Games, have formed a new company called Boss Key Productions
Bleszinski spent two decades at Epic Games working on the Jazz Jackrabbit, Unreal and Gears of War franchises before leaving the company and retiring from game design in Oct. 2012.

Microsoft is looking to lose a few good men. Pun intended of course, but the job cuts are serious, with Microsoft looking to cut anywhere up to 12K positions that are redundant and overlap each other.
These types of cuts are nothing new; with nearly every major corporate acquisition, some staffing has to be cut to reduce redundancy in the organization.

Mobile Device Use in the Air Not Taking Off
The dire predictions of complete and utter pandemonium on airline flights due to the easing of the rules by the FAA/FCC to operate hand held devices for the entire flight have failed to emerge. A new study found that since the change in rules only a slight uptick in use has occurred.
"Flights are one of the last bastions (where) reading material is the norm," Schwieterman says. "People also use the time to sleep and chill out," and some enjoy being in the travel bubble."

NASA Approves Space Launch System for Deep-Space Travel
With a new $2.8 Billion dollar contract in hand from NASA, Boeing is ready to get to work putting the US back into space and this time, they aren't shooting for the moon, they're going for deep space exploration.
The first Space Launch System mission in 2017 will launch an empty Orion spacecraft. The second mission is targeted for 2021 and will launch Orion and a crew of NASA astronauts.

Apple Lures Executive from Luxury Swiss Watch Maker
Apple has hired away Patrick Pruniaux, VP of sales for Swiss watch company Tag Heuer to join the iWatch team. Apple is reportedly gearing up for a September/October timeline for the grand unveiling of the new wearable technology.
In a research note for clients released earlier this year, Morgan Stanley estimated that Apple could generate up to $17.5 billion in sales in its first year from the iWatch, outpacing even the iPod.

Microsoft is making shelf room for the new Surface Pro 3 in the Microsoft Store by pulling its stock of Surface Pro 2's. The stock is being returned back to Microsoft. What other retailers are doing along the same lines is unclear at this time.
