How Air Force One's Communications Are Kept Private
How do you keep Air Force One safe from prying eye / ears? That's easy, just ban the NSA from riding on the plane.

According to Col. Dean Clothier, the vice commander of the 688th Cyberspace Wing, the work of the 346th Test Squadron is just one element of his organization's broader work to ensure that vulnerabilities in the service's essential systems -- from physical infrastructure to water and power systems to radios and other communications equipment aboard airplanes -- are secure. Defending the cyber components of all Air Force infrastructure is the task of the 24th Air Force, and often that means trying to attack their own systems. "We look for vulnerabilities for cybersystems to be breached," Clothier said.

I guess this is a lot better than park benches being used as beds by the homeless in Boston. Uh oh, the countdown to lawsuits over solar-powered park benches displacing the homeless begins in 3....2....1.

The benches, to be located in various parks, will allow residents to take a load off their feet — while plugging in and recharging their cellphones. "Your cellphone doesn't just make phone calls, why should our benches just be seats?" Mayor Martin J. Walsh said in a statement Friday.

Stalker Facebook Page Extends, Then Retracts, Support For Areal Kickstarter
We posted this earlier today in our Gaming [H]eadlines post but I wanted to give you guys the chance to comment on this recent turn of events.

The official Facebook page of GSC Game World issued a statement over the weekend calling for an end to disparaging comments about Areal, the "definitive spiritual successor" to the Stalker games that's now on Kickstarter. That led the makers of the Misery mod, one of Areal's most prominent critics, to remove all such criticism from its Facebook page; yet now GSC has reversed course, saying its expression of support for Areal was not official at all.

According to this article, a Windows 9 preview is expected later this year and the main focus is winning over Windows 7 hold outs.

Man Subdues Burglar With Video Game Gun
While this could have easily been just another stupid criminal post, the pure awesomeness of the homeowner trumps the stupidity of the crook.

Police say a 24-year-old man was at his Ophelia Street home Sunday morning playing video games when an unknown man came into his house. The resident told police he felt threatened and pulled out a "prop" gun, likely used in the video game he was playing, and was able to detain the intruder until police arrived.
