Stalker Facebook Page Extends, Then Retracts, Support For Areal Kickstarter

The official Facebook page of GSC Game World issued a statement over the weekend calling for an end to disparaging comments about Areal, the "definitive spiritual successor" to the Stalker games that's now on Kickstarter. That led the makers of the Misery mod, one of Areal's most prominent critics, to remove all such criticism from its Facebook page; yet now GSC has reversed course, saying its expression of support for Areal was not official at all.

Serious Security Threat Lurks On 86% Of Android Phones
As bad as this may sound, at least there is a patch out now.
A bug in the Android KeyStore left an estimated 86 percent of Android phones vulnerable to major security breaches, according to an advisory IBM researchers published last week. The researchers discovered the problem nine months ago, but waited until the Android Security Team came up with a patch for Android KitKat, which is now available.

Man Subdues Burglar With Video Game Gun
While this could have easily been just another stupid criminal post, the pure awesomeness of the homeowner trumps the stupidity of the crook.
Police say a 24-year-old man was at his Ophelia Street home Sunday morning playing video games when an unknown man came into his house. The resident told police he felt threatened and pulled out a "prop" gun, likely used in the video game he was playing, and was able to detain the intruder until police arrived.
