CDex 1.70 Final
CDex can extract the data directly (digital) from an Audio CD, which is generally called a CD Ripper or a CDDA utility. The resulting audio file can be a plain WAV file (useful for making compilation audio CDs) or the ripped audio data can be compressed using an audio encoder. Many encoders are supported, to name a few:

Lame MP3 encoder

Internal MP2 encoder

APE lossles audio format

Ogg Vorbis encoder

The Windows MP3 encoder (Fraunhofer MP3 encoder)

NTT VQF encoder

FAAC encoder

Windows WMA8 encoder

In addition, WAV files on the hard drive can be converted to a Compressed Audio File (and visa versa). CDex also supports many audio file tag formats like the ID3V1 and ID3V2 tags, which can be automatically inserted as part of the ripping process.

Pretty sweet deal - I'd probably be running it at 1080P for a while, but the price is right even for that...

Favi SmartStick Wireless Keyboard
Today for review I have the Favi SmartStick Wireless Keyboard and it’s just what it sounds like, a wireless keyboard. The Favi keyboard is very small and meant to be used with an HTPC or Android system and it even has a touchpad built-in for navigation along with numerous special buttons like those used with Android and multimedia buttons. The keyboard also has a built-in laser pointer and presentation buttons so you could even use it for work if you wanted to, but it’s real use I think is for Android or Windows computers and their multimedia uses. testfreaks.com

Crucial MX100 512GB SSD
As technology progresses prices for current and previous generation devices keep falling and that has allowed solid state drives (SSDs) to become mainstream quite faster than many of us had hoped for when we first started to receive the very first ones to appear in the market roughly 6 years ago. Of course compared to regular mechanical hard disk drives (HDDs) the difference in price/capacity ratio is still somewhat large but at least now one can get an high performance 256GB SSD model for less than 0.7$ per GB. Price however is not the only thing that has improved the standing of SSDs in the market since with the appearance of 1TB models and the recent announcement of 2TB ones professionals can now have superior read & write speeds at very large capacities (always compared to the past). nikktech.com

DXRacer TV Lounge Chair
Although my wife would most likely argue against this, we as gamers don’t always spend all of our time at our PCs. The market for console gaming is huge and DXRacer recognized that and has jumped into the market with chair designed specifically for it. There new TV Lounge Chair shares a few features with their office chairs but the overall design is drastically different and focused specifically on living room gaming. I took the opportunity to bust out the PlayStation again and put in a little game time in the living room. lanoc.org
