Raijintek Pallas Low-Profile CPU Cooler
Just like the previously reviewed THEMIS Evo, the Raijintek Pallas showed incredible thermal control at a very good price point. Considering that it can go toe-to-toe with larger tower-style coolers, the Raijintek Pallas is not a typical low-profile cooler just for HTPC use. The design and the build quality is also impeccable with detailed touches not just for aesthetic reasons but for practical functionality as well. hardware-360.com

Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB 1866MHz CL10 Memory
Today we are going to be looking at Kingston’s new HyperX line called “Fury”. This new Fury line from Kingston will position itself against its current mainstream HyperX Genesis and high-end HyperX Predator lines. The HyperX Fury pretty much lines up with its competitor from Corsair’s Vengeance line. This will give consumers more options and widens that market share. The Fury line was not designed to be the best of the best, but is meant to meet that middle line between your beginning users and the higher-end clients. We have speeds ranging from 1333MHz to 1866Mhz which will be available in 8GB single sticks or 8GB to 16GB kits. pureoverclock.com

Samsung SSD 840 EVO mSATA 1TB Solid State Drive
Samsung's new 840 EVO mSATA SSD is proof that good things do come in small packages. Designed and built entirely in-house, this pint-sized drive is powered by Samsung's triple-core MEX controller and is available with up to 1TB of the company's 3-bit MLC NAND flash. Like its 2.5-inch counterpart, the 840 EVO mSATA utilizes a massive DRAM cache and Samsung's TurboWrite technology to achieve a high-level of performance. In our sequential read and write tests, the 1TB version of the 840 EVO mSATA was able to read at speeds as high as 556 MB/s and write at speeds in excess of 494 MB/s. The drive also did very well in our random write tests, producing more than 83,000 IOPS at low queue depths. Moreover, it performed equally well with compressible and incompressible data and was able to sustain these speeds, even after intensive use. cdrlabs.com

Diamond USB Xtreme Sound XS71HDU
Late last year, we reviewed the DIAMOND Xtreme Sound 7.1 XS71HD, and found it to be a suitable replacement for onboard audio for a good price using a PCI-E slot. However there are certain cases where an internal upgrade isn’t feasible. Perhaps you don’t have the room for it due to existing hardware, or you simply couldn’t be bothered to get in there and install a PCI-E card. A USB audio upgrade may be worth considering -it can even provide its own advantages over an internal upgrade as we’ll see. hardcoreware.net
