Samsung Data Center Fire Causes Outage, Errors
If you experienced outages or errors with your Samsung phone tablet or smart TV early this morning, Samsung has a very good excuse: one of their data centers was on fire. Updates say there were no fatalities and that service has been restored in most cases. Thanks to forum subscriber Ocean for the link.

It's Final -- Corn Ethanol Is Of No Use
Two new reports from The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change find that while corn ethanol does burn cleaner than petroleum products, the overall indirect impact from emissions is greater than that of petroleum products.

The International Institute for Sustainable Development was not so diplomatic, and estimates that the CO2 and climate benefits from replacing petroleum fuels with biofuels like ethanol are basically zero.

Next Windows Obsolescence Panic is 450 days
Countdowns are such fun, just look how much fun we had with 2012 and the end of life on Earth, followed closely by the Windows XP shutdown. Next up on the radar is the demise of Windows Server 2003 R2 which shouldn't raise as much dust as XP, but will prove to be a pain in the rear to migrate for the IT guys. 450 days: You have been forewarned.

The Nokia Lumia 2520 is a real shocker….no really, a real shocker. Sales of the tablet have been suspended in seven countries due to a faulty charger that could electrically shock the user.

SpaceX's Dragon Docks with International Space Station
Three's a charm with the SpaceX Dragon that blasted off toward the International Space Station from Cape Canaveral on Friday and successfully docking this morning. This is the third mission to the ISS by SpaceX carrying cargo and it's looking like private enterprise space flights are a resounding success.

The docking wasn't the only successful part of SpaceX's launch. It was also making its first test of its Falcon 9′s reusable first stage – a step towards the company's goal of a reusable rocket.

Sony Sells Off All Square Enix Shares
Sony is slimming down recently and the reduction is showing on the bottom line. Sony has sold off almost 10 Million shares of Square Enix, ending its business interest with the video game developer.

Sony will record a $48 million gain in its fiscal report thanks to the deal. The PlayStation manufacturer did not specify a reason for the sale.
