U.S. To Relinquish Remaining Control Over The Internet
Well...this sucks. At this point, I think we all just need to be optimistic and cross our fingers and hope for the best.

U.S. officials announced plans Friday to relinquish federal government control over the administration of the Internet, a move likely to please international critics but alarm some business leaders and others who rely on smooth functioning of the Web.

After Borking Lots Of Crowdfunding Campaigns, PayPal Updates Policies
The best way to avoid payment issues like the ones described in this article? Don't use PayPal. Presto! No more problems.

Initially, PayPal froze $45,000 in funds that were raised by indie e-mail client developer Mailpile, citing the potential for fraud. PayPal told Mailpile that those funds would remain frozen "for a full year or until they have a verifiable 1.0 release of their product." Mailpile's other option was to send PayPal "an itemized budget and your development goal dates" for the project. None of those demands seemed justified to Mailpile's Iceland-based developers.

If you are a Google Docs / Google Drive user, you should probably read this article.

The fake page is actually hosted on Google's servers and is served over SSL, making the page even more convincing. Stupid Criminal of the Day
The title of "stupid criminal of the day" goes to this moron who thought this would be a good idea.

The investigation began Wednesday morning when police officers were notified about a photo on Twitter. It showed a rifle pointed at a Los Angeles street with the caption "100 (retweets) and I'll shoot someone walking."

Google Wants E-Mail Scanning Information Blocked
If you replaced "Google" with the "NSA," people would be up-in-arms over this story. But, since we're not talking about the NSA, no biggy.

Google, fighting a lawsuit claiming its interception of e-mails amounts to illegal wiretapping, asked U.S. District Judge Lucy H. Koh in a filing yesterday to redact "confidential" information from the transcript, without being more specific. The main revelation at the Feb. 27 hearing was the existence of "Content Onebox," used by Google to intercept e-mails for targeted advertising and to build user profiles, Sean Rommel, a lawyer for plaintiffs, told the judge at the time.

PS4 and Xbox One Are Neck-And-Neck
NPD, the people that keep track of video game sales, say that the PS4 and Xbox One are neck-and-neck.

RIAA Wants Google to End Piracy "Whack-A-Mole"
It is painfully obvious that the RIAA has no idea how the internet works.

RIAA CEO Cary Sherman wants search engines to take significant action against pirate sites. The RIAA says Google should implement special anti-piracy measures as copyright holders can't properly take down constantly reappearing links to infringing content. "It's like 'Groundhog Day' for takedowns," Sherman says.
