MSI Radeon R9 270X Hawk
The staff at Overclockers Club have taken the MSI Radeon R9 270X Hawk around the block a few times to see what it is capable of. Here's a quote from the full review:
I have to say that MSI put together a pretty decent package with the R9 270X Hawk, which lived up to expectations for the most part. At stock speeds, the R9 270X Hawk is just faster than the HD 7870 and is easily faster than the GTX 660 in every test run. It even gives the GTX 760 a run for its money in some of the tests. That alone earns the price point of $219 for the R9 270X Hawk.

Battlefield 4 12GB Installation Recommended on Xbox 360
If you are an Xbox owner anxiously awaiting Battlefield 4, now would be a good time to upgrade that 4GB Xbox 360 you have.
The first time you start your game, regardless of which disc you use, you will be asked to perform a required installation of 2 GB worth of game content to your hard drive. In addition to the required installation, each disc has additional content you can install to your hard drive for better performance.
The Multiplayer Disc, or Disc 1, has an additional 6.6 GB of content
The Single Player Disc, or Disc 2, has 5.8 GB of installation content.
We highly recommend performing these additional installations to make sure you have the best experience possible in Battlefield 4.

NSA Collecting Millions of E-Mail Contact Lists And Address Books
Calm down, I'm sure the NSA has a perfectly good reason for collecting more than 250 million contact lists and address books from private citizens every year. Our government wouldn't spy on us for no reason, we are all just overreacting. Thanks to TeenK9 for the link.
The Washington Post reported late Monday that the spy agency intercepts hundreds of thousands of email address books every day from private accounts on Yahoo, Gmail, Facebook and Hotmail that move though global data links. The NSA also collects about a half million buddy lists from live chat services and email accounts.

Fractal Design Define R4 Case
The crew at TechwareLabs has posted a short review of the Fractal Design Define R4 case today. If you need new chassis, the Define R4 might be right up your alley.
There are two main schools of thought when it comes to enthusiast case design. One can be thought of as attention-seeking: make it as flashy, splashy, and eye catching as possible. The other is most often described as minimalist: strip the design down to bare essentials, keep the design accents subtle. Fractal Design has an established reputation in the second school, and today we're going to be taking a look at one of their latest efforts: the Define R4.

Director Responds To Wikileaks Attacks
After weeks of listening to Julian Assange cry about "The Fifth Estate," the director of the movie has a few things to say about the whole situation.
Absolutely. It already had happened because of the source material, which he takes exception to. But he takes exception to anything, honestly, written about him that isn't completely laudatory. He's very thin-skinned and he very much in a naive way tries to control what people say about him. There's something strange and adolescent about it, you know? He's like the teenager who has to prove he was right about everything.

Snapchat Hands Over Your Messages To The Authorities
Here's a good idea...just pretend everything you do and say on the internet is being handed over to the authorities. That way, you aren't surprised when you read stuff like this.
For example, if we receive a search warrant from law enforcement for the contents of Snaps and those Snaps are still on our servers, a federal law called the Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA) obliges us to produce the Snaps to the requesting law enforcement agency. Since May 2013, about a dozen of the search warrants we've received have resulted in us producing unopened Snaps to law enforcement.

Radeon Performance "Incredible" On Linux 3.12
Good news for all you alternative OS users out there, the gang over at Phoronix says that the Linux 3.12 kernel brings "truly incredible performance improvements" to Radeon graphics cards.
Benchmarks of a Radeon HD 4000 series GPU showed the Linux 3.12 kernel bringing major performance improvements over Linux 3.11 and prior. Some games improved with just low double-digit gains while other Linux games were nearly 90% faster! Interestingly, the AMD Radeon Linux developers were even surprised by these findings. After carrying out additional tests throughout the weekend, I can confirm these truly incredible performance improvements on other hardware. In this article are results from ten different AMD Radeon graphics cards."

Best Buy Opens Xbox One Preorders Again
It looks like Microsoft is staying true to its word to make more Xbox One consoles available for launch. I'll just be glad when both new consoles launch so the fanboys have something better to do than sit around in the forums screaming about who has the most pre-orders.
Microsoft said it sold out of Xbox One preorder units last month, leaving potential buyers having to resort to other means to nab a console on its first day out. Several retailers including Best Buy are opening up at midnight on November 22 to sell initial units.
