It looks as though BlackBerry's downward spiral continues with rumors that the company is cutting its workforce by 40%.
BlackBerry may cut up to 40 percent of its workforce, according to The Wall Street Journal. The company will look to cut across different departments and the trimming may occur in different phases, the Journal reported, citing anonymous sources. BlackBerry had 12,700 employees as of March.

According to Reuters, Microsoft is planning more TV shows for the Xbox One to go along with its live action Halo series.
Microsoft Corp will follow its Steven Spielberg collaboration with more television projects aimed at positioning its new Xbox games console as a home entertainment hub. Microsoft's Xbox One console, unveiled in May, will be released in tandem with a Spielberg-produced television series based on the Halo game series.

Global internet piracy is growing rapidly, according to a new report commissioned by NBC Universal. In the three key regions of North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific, which comprise 82.6% of all internet users and 95.1% of all bandwidth consumed, the report claims that infringing bandwidth use increased by 159.3% between 2010 and 2012, from 3,690 petabytes to 9,567 petabytes. This figure represents 23.8% of the total bandwidth used by all internet users.
