Why The GTA V Petition Won't Speed Up Its PC Release
Why doesn't Rockstar release the PC version of GTA V sooner? Because they know we are all suckers that will line up to buy it, regardless how long they make us wait, petition be damned.
When Rockstar Games released Grand Theft Auto IV for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in April of 2008, it waited roughly seven months to bring the title to PC. Now, as the fifth installment in the series hits store shelves Tuesday, the developer famous for keeping its lips sealed about studio secrets has no reason to change up that formula -- no matter how many signatures the ballooning Change.org petition garners.

Tricks Facebook Uses To Keep You From Quitting
I didn't realize Facebook made it so difficult to quit. Hell, like most social media sites, half the pages on Facebook are fake profiles or haven't been updated in forever.
Facebook is employing the opposite principle by hiding the link to delete an account, burying the link to deactivate an account, and by asking users to fill out a survey before they leave. These efforts make it more difficult for someone to leave Facebook, which might be just as effective as convincing them that they don't want to leave.

Six-Strikes 'Education' Should Be Unbiased
The "no duh" statement of the day has to be this one made by the folks at the Internet Society:
We strongly believe that ALL voluntary mechanisms should employ accountable and transparent practices, including the ability of users to have access to information and to receive clear notifications in advance, the existence of clear and proportionate enforcement policies and, the assurance of protecting users' privacy.
Ultimately, voluntary based initiatives should serve the public and its interests. They should not be used as a back door for achieving goals not otherwise achieved through other, more traditional regulatory means.

MSI GTX 780 Lightning
Hardware Canucks has just published a review of the MSI GTX 780 Lightning. If you are upgrading your graphics card any time soon, give this review the once over.
One interesting aspect of this card is MSI's claim to have tested each unit for overclocking headroom. Now, they don't make any guarantees, nor is an average achievable clock speed talked about in their documentation but supposedly burn-in routines are applied to every card before shipping so that should give some peace of mind for overclockers.
