The documents, mostly from 2009, describe what a judge on the secret court that oversees surveillance said was the improper access of "thousands" of Americans' phone numbers by government counterterrorism analysts. They also indicate that US government officials, including NSA director Keith Alexander, gave misleading statements to the court about how they carried out that surveillance.

I honestly don't see why Microsoft couldn't do backwards compatibility in the first place. Cloud or no cloud, you'd think the Xbox One should have more than enough horsepower to run a Xbox 360 emulator.

Google says it is "considering its next step" after losing an appeal in the Street View snooping lawsuit. I have an idea, how about making the next step apologizing (again) and moving on?
Attorneys suing Google for enabling its camera-carrying vehicles to collect emails and Internet passwords while photographing neighborhoods for the search giant's popular "Street View" maps look forward to resuming their case now that a federal appeals court has ruled in their favor.

EA Selects New BioWare Boss
Electronic Arts has named Matthew Bromberg as the new head of BioWare. Bromberg, formerly the general manager of BioWare Austin, has only been with the company since 2012.
The job has been open since the founders of BioWare, Greg Zeschuk and Ray Muzyka, left last year after decades of developing games. The post is an important one because BioWare has some of EA's most successful game franchises Mass Effect and Dragon Age and also some of its biggest budget games such as Star Wars: The Old Republic.

The UK's Federation Against Copyright Theft is working with computing giant IBM to continue their crackdown on Internet piracy. By utilizing IBM technology the anti-piracy group says it is able to better manage intelligence in order to identify individuals and organizations who share its members' content online without permission. Furthermore, FACT adds that it has virtually eliminated UK-based camcorder piracy.
