ASUS GTX 780 DCII OC Review
XtremeHardware has just posted a review of the ASUS GTX 780 DCII OC. Grab a translator and head on over to give it a read. You can see our recent evaluation here.
The ASUS GTX 780 DirectCU II OC, codenamed DC2OC-GTX780-3GD5, although not explicitly referred to as a video card of the ROG series, can easily be identified as such, given that the reference does not possess almost nothing. Expressly dedicated to extreme gaming, is able to guarantee excellent results in overclocking thanks to selected components and cutting edge, actively cooled by a system of bi-dissipation fan that, for the first time in years, is finally changed.

Federal Judges Ready To Rule Against Net Neutrality
Could this be the beginning of the end for net neutrality?
A federal court appears ready to side with Verizon and strike down at least part of the Federal Communications Commission's (FCC) net-neutrality regulations. At an oral argument Monday, two of the three judges on a panel of the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals indicated that they believe the FCC lacks the authority to prohibit Internet service providers from discriminating against websites.

Fractal Design Arc Midi R2
The fellas over at Techgage just put the finishing touches on their review of the Fractal Design Arc Midi R2 mid-tower case.
Fractal's original Arc Midi chassis impressed us enough to become the base of our CPU cooler testing rig, so when we heard that a sequel to it was released, we couldn't wait to check it out. With its beefy feature-set, semi modular design, support for up to a 240mm radiator and a $70 price tag, this mid-tower might just be the one to beat.

Popular Culture Has Soured on Silicon Valley's Hotshots
While there has been a handful of embarrassing incidents in the tech industry lately, I think it is a stretch to say the tech crowd is replacing Wall Streeters as "the" group to hate on.
Are tech entrepreneurs replacing Wall Streeters as the rich bad guys in the popular imagination? It's starting to seem that way, at least in the media. The clearest example of this new rich-guy-bad-guy casting shift was the summer's hullabaloo surrounding Sean Parker's wedding.

Developers Faking Kickstarter Funding
I guess we all should have seen this coming a mile away.
Why would a game back itself with fake capital? Because Ouya has promised to match, dollar-for-dollar, the backing of any game that, between now and next August, meets a minimum $50,000 goal on Kickstarter and then releases exclusively on their console for its first six months of release. The hypothetical scheme isn't that farfetched: Log in, give yourself $50K from your own credit card(s), pay that back immediately, and then make the game with whatever Ouya gives you.

Which Colleges Are The Biggest BitTorrent Users?
Which colleges have the most pirates...errr, I mean most BitTorrent users? You just MIghT be surprised.
For more than a decade universities have been battling a persistent piracy problem. While progress has been made over the past few years, there are still plenty of illicit file-sharers present on university networks. Today we look at the top universities in the United States ranked by BitTorrent usage. Perhaps not surprisingly, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology comes out on top, followed by Rutgers and New York University.

Activision Hires Lobbying Firm as Violent Games Bill Looms
It looks like Activision has hired some big guns to go head to head with the knuckleheads in our nation's capital.
Activision Blizzard, the Santa Monica, Calif.-based maker of "Warcraft," "Diablo" and other popular video games, has tapped lobbyists in Washington to advocate on a Senate bill that calls for a comprehensive study of the impact of violent video games on children.

Microsoft Releases Windows 8.1 RTM to Developers
I like how this story claims Microsoft is doing "another 180" when the author is the one that started this rumor back in August saying "I am hearing scuttlebutt Microsoft isn't releasing Windows 8.1 early to developers."
The latest 180, announced by the company on September 9, is that MSDN/TechNet subscribers and volume licensees are going to be able to get their hands on the Windows 8.1 release to manufacturing (RTM) bits early, after all. In fact, Microsoft is making the RTM versions of Windows 8.1 and Windows 8.1 Pro available to those groups today, September 9, starting at 10 a.m. PST.

GTA V Cost $266M To Make?
Is it just me or do these numbers seem off? If they are accurate, that means GTA V will need to sell almost five million copies just to break even.
Five years in the making, the game's development and marketing budget of £170 million is the equivalent of a blockbuster film. Such is the success of the series, industry experts believe its latest incarnation will rewrite the record books, shifting 25 million copies in the first year alone, achieving sales of £1bn.
