Mozilla Unveils 'Aggressive' Firefox OS Schedule
Mozilla has announced a proposed timetable for upgrades and updates for its Firefox OS. The company is planning on keeping the frequency of releases to be in line with that of the Firefox browser. According to a just released report from the South China Morning Post, the Chinese woman who was electrocuted when answering her iPhone 4 was still connected to an unauthorized battery charger. The charger appeared to malfunction, allowing a full 220 volt charge to run through the battery.
"Knockoff chargers sometimes cut corners," Xiang said. "The quality of the capacitor and circuit protector may not be good, and this may lead to the capacitor breaking down and sending 220 volts of electricity directly into the cell phone battery."

Secret Court Approves Continued NSA Spying
On Friday, without much in the way of a public announcement, the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) was renewed by the FISA court. The prior order was set to expire at 5pm Friday afternoon, but the ruling by the court approved renewing FISA just prior to the deadline.
There is some good news to this week's happenings. We now know more than ever before exactly how the NSA's telephony metadata program works. Unfortunately, the more we learn, the less it seems we can do.

Score a win for the little guys fighting the big corporation. Tumblr Starts Hiding Porn from Search and Tag Pages
When Yahoo took over Tumblr, the issue of what could be deemed NSFW image content was addressed as a non-actionable issue and announced that it would remain status quo. It now appears that Tumblr has backtracked on its original statement and a compromise of sorts has been reached to leave the content intact, but the blogs and posts will be non-searchable and hidden, making the content more difficult to locate.
Blogs classified as NSFW (ones that contain occasional nudity or adult content) or adult (ones that contain mostly nudity or adult-oriented material) will not show up in tag pages or search pages for users that are not logged in or who have "Safe Mode" turned on.
