Creator of the GIF Sets Record Straight
The guy that created the GIF seems a bit miffed that people still want to pronounce the word with a hard G.

He is proud of the GIF, but remains annoyed that there is still any debate over the pronunciation of the format. "The Oxford English Dictionary accepts both pronunciations," Mr. Wilhite said. "They are wrong. It is a soft 'G,' pronounced 'jif.' End of story."

Xbox One Supports External Storage
If you are worried about the Xbox One's non-removable 500GB hard drive, you shouldn't be. Microsoft told Engadget that external drives are supported and can be used for everything the internal drive is used for.

Hard drives in the Xbox One are non-user-serviceable, but Penello confirmed that the USB 3.0 port is there for external storage, which can be used for everything the internal storage can be used for. That includes game installs and downloads. So, don't fret: adding storage will be just as easy as ever.

Xbox One FAQ
Microsoft has put out a Xbox One FAQ this afternoon that will hopefully answer some of your unanswered questions. The good news? No "always on" connection required and it plays used games:

Q: Does Xbox One require an "always on" Internet connection?
A: No, it does not have to be always connected, but Xbox One does require a connection to the Internet. We're designing Xbox One to be your all-in-one entertainment system that is connected to the cloud and always ready. We are also designing it so you can play games and watch Blu-ray movies and live TV if you lose your connection.

Q: Will Xbox One allow players to trade in, purchase and play pre-owned games?
A: We are designing Xbox One to enable customers to trade in and resell games. We'll have more details to share later.

This is your "I can't believe this was a real study" article of the day.

Video games that pit players against human-looking characters may be more likely to provoke violent thoughts and words than games where monstrous creatures are the enemy, according to a new study by researchers at the University of Connecticut and Wake Forest University.

Former GTA Producer: I'll Never Make Violent Games Again
This is an interesting story. Some guy that used to work for Rockstar decided to quit making violent games because he didn't like explaining to friends and family that he made violent video games.

I would always kind of defend the games we were making and I was pretty proud of being involved, but then when I would visit my grandmother in highly religious Alabama and have to explain what I do for a living, I didn't feel so great about explaining to them that I was a part of 'that game' they've been hearing about. I think that's what sort of planted the seeds of me wanting to work on different types of games."

IN WIN G7 Mid-Tower ATX Case
If you are in the market for a new mid-tower case, make sure you read our evaluation of the IN WIN G7. You get a lot of case for not a lot of money.

We have been using IN WIN cases here at HardOCP for as long as HardOCP has been in existence. Some of our first case mods were based on an IN WIN chassis. We have lost focus on IN WIN in the last decade or so because there are so many quality cases that hit the mark. Does the G7 case live up the nostalgia we have for the brand, for $56?

Thermaltake Non-Interference Cooler F4
The crew at Pro-Clockers have the Thermaltake Non-Interference Cooler F4 in house for a little review action today.

Thermaltake's newest CPU cooler consist of four cooler models for now and the line-up is called the NiC or Non-Interference Cooler series. The reason behind the name is that the coolers allow for the builder or end user to fill all of their motherboard DIMM slots. This is something that is often not possible with most coolers because of their massive size.

Revenge, Ego and The Corruption of Wikipedia
Holy cow, this whole thing reads like a soap opera from the seventies. [citation needed]

Qworty's edits undermine our faith in this great project. Qworty's edits prove that Wikipedia's content can be shaped by people settling grudges and acting out of spite and envy. Qworty alone, by his own account, has made 13,000 edits to Wikipedia. And Qworty, as the record will show, is not to be trusted.
