Amazon Jumps the Gun, Leaks 8-inch Windows 8 Tablet
Amazon mistakenly listed an Acer W3-810 which just so happens to be a non-existent Windows 8 tablet listed at $380 Bucks. It's a smaller version at 8.1 inches with a 1280x800 display and adequate internal specs to get the job done.

As with any leaked hardware, take all of this information with just a grain of salt. The price and any of these specs could very well change before the official release (in the event that this device is actually released at all).

Why Intel Picking Up AMD Might Make Sense
Several years ago people wouldn't have given much thought to Intel buying up AMD simply because both were the major competitors in the same market and it would have been considered a monopoly for Intel. Times have changed along with the chip market and now the once far flung idea is looking more like a good move for Intel.

With ARM staying the dominant instruction set in the phone and tablet space, Intel is facing a serious issue as Apple, Samsung, Qualcomm and Nvidia are all making money on ARM chips.

And as usual, the burning question is 'can it run Crysis'? A team of researchers that probably haven't seen the sun in a year or more have reached a new amazing plateau of processing 33 Trillion events in 65 seconds utilizing 1,966,080 cores of the Sequoia Blue Gene/Q supercomputer. Now you know exactly why the term 'Warp Speed' is a fitting description.

The system uses a new, long range performance metric, called Warp Speed, which grows linearly with an exponential increase in the PHOLD event-rate. In true Star Trek style, the machine has warp speeds. Currently it is at Warp Speed 2.7 and it will be nearly 150 years before we expect to reach Warp Speed 10.0.
