Apple Looking for a Replacement for CEO Cook?
According to sources on Wall Street, Apple is already quietly looking at prospects to fill CEO Tim Cook's position. Since Cook took over the reins of Apple, the stock has gone from an all-time high of $702 a share to a 52 week low of $390. Analysts have voiced concerns over stockholders movement and fears of investors prompting the speculation of a leadership change.
So unless Apple CEO Cook announces something really dramatic in new products or astronomical earnings on Tuesday, the stock will surely decline even more.

Bitcoin's Mt. Gox Downed by DDoS Attack
Mt. Gox, the world's largest Bitcoin exchange has been under a heavily sustained DDoS attack for a good portion of today causing disruption of service and downtime. Mt. Gox has become a favorite target for Denial of Service attacks in recent months and has been affecting the fluctuating price of Bitcoin currency worldwide.
On Facebook and Twitter, the company first informed its users that it was experiencing an outage and then later followed up to confirm the source was indeed yet another DDoS attack.

Facebook Reportedly Behind 'Project Catapult'
It appears that the mystery was solved concerning the ultra-secret facility plans in Altoona, Iowa. Facebook is reportedly the name behind the 1.4 million square foot data center that has been tentatively approved by government agencies in Iowa. Cost of the project is an estimated $1.5 Billion dollars.
The facility would be the third major data center project in Iowa, joining complexes from Google and Microsoft. It would also be Facebook's fourth such project, behind existing data facilities in Oregon, North Carolina, and Sweden.

How a Fake Island Ended Up On Google Earth
We posted this story about a year ago concerning an island that was shown on Google Earth that just vanished. I guess the researchers in Australia really worry about things like this and finally got to the bottom of the mysterious disappearance. I'm thinking Gilligan's Island myself.

CBS Twitter Accounts Hacked by 'Pro-Damascus Group'
Last month it was the BBC that was targeted by the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) and now the group has hacked the Twitter account of CBS, posting erroneous messages in the name of CBS and 60 Minutes. The hijacked accounts have been temporarily suspended until secured.
A CBS spokeswoman confirmed that the accounts had been compromised. CBS said it was working with Twitter to "resolve the issue".

Windows 8.1 'Kiosk Mode' Discovered in Leak
There's a leak or two a week these days leading up to the release of Windows 8.1 and in this version, (Build 9374) Windows 8.1 is showing off its Kiosk Mode. Whether this is a new feature or just an experiment, it has the rumor mill turning again.

Looks like Bethesda is keeping true to form and planning to release the Legendary Edition of The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim on June 7th according to Eurogamer Poland. The release will be for Xbox , PS3 and PC platforms.

Microsoft's Bing Blocked by Browsers
Microsoft's Bing search engine is having a bit of a problem with its Security Certificates and is being blocked by most browsers as an untrusted site.
The certificate, which was apparently misconfigured by Akamai (which front-ends Bing for Microsoft), threw up warnings on browsersincluding Internet Explorerthat the site might be fraudulent.
