EA Suspends SimCity Marketing Campaigns
Considering most people still can't even play SimCity right now, it is probably a good idea the company decided to suspend marketing campaigns for the game until it is fixed.
In an email sent this morning to marketing affiliate partners, EA Origin says it has "deactivated all SimCity text links and creative and we ask you to please remove any copy promoting SimCity from your website for the time-being." The email, obtained by Polygon, is directed at affiliates of EA Origin's LinkShare program.

Who's Liable For Driverless Car Crashes?
Ummm, the answer to this question seems rather obvious, doesn't it? The company with the logo on the car and the deepest pockets would be the obvious choice.
"It's absolutely the case that after the first accident involving an automated vehicle, there will be an automated ambulance chaser following," says Robert Hartwig, president of the Insurance Information Institute. The auto industry is aware of the legal risk. "We have great exposure as an industry in terms of product liability," says Dan Gage of the Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers. "And I think as an industry ... most of us suspect that there will always be someone in that driver's seat."

Cooler Master Scout 2 Advanced
Want a case with a built-in handle? Check out this review of the Cooler Master Scout 2 Advanced at Ninjalane today.
Carrying handles aren't a new thing. In the early days case modders would attach their own to make moving their system around a little easier. This sort of thing was often associated with LAN gaming and the trend just kinda stuck.

Apple Finally Fixes App Store Password Flaw
Let's see, the company was informed of the vulnerability last July, but it wasn't fixed until today. I'd say that's pretty quick for Apple.
Early July 2012, I reported to Apple numerous vulnerabilities related to their App Store iOS app. Last week Apple finally issued a fix for it and turned on HTTPS for the App Store. I am really happy that my spare-time work pushed Apple to finally enabled HTTPS to protect users. This post discuss the vulnerabilities I found. As a bonus, I made several video demos of the attacks described in this post so you can see by yourself how dangerous not having full HTTPS is.

An Open Letter to EA on SimCity
PCMag has an editorial posted today that basically just tells EA "I told you so."
I don't want to gloat. I want you to understand why this happened, and how you can prevent it from happening in the future. When concerns are raised over "online features," listen to them. When people warn you months in advance that there will be server issues, listen to them. When gamers worry that they won't be able to play SimCity years from now (when every SimCity game from the Super Nintendo version to SimCity 4 remains playable and enjoyable), listen to them.

Google Fiber TV Adds 3D Channels
Google Fiber is pretty damn cool but does anyone watch regular TV shows in 3D? I guess I would try it out if it was already part of the package I was currently paying for but I wouldn't pay for it separately.
Subscribers to the Google Fiber Gigabit + TV Plan will automatically receive 3net, which will offer documentaries, family entertainment, concerts, lifestyle and cooking shows, and scripted series, all in 3D. Sports fans who want to catch their favorite teams in 3D can grab ESPN3D for an additional $5 per month with their Gigabit + TV plan. Subscribers can call Google Fiber to sign up for ESPN3D.

75% Of Man's Skull Replaced By 3D Printed Material
Who would have imagined that we would ever be using 3D printing to replace large portions of a man's skull?
A man has had 75 per cent of his skull replaced with a custom-made 3D-printed implant. The un-named patient in the United States had his head imaged by a 3D scanner before the plastic prosthetic was crafted to suit his features.
